10 songs for the road

suggestions, please!

OK, I’m going on a 12-15 hour road trip on Saturday, and I need suggestions for good songs for the road. Let’s hear 'em! :agree:

Born to be Wild #1

Why just 10?

Get the rocking and rolling out of your system early in the drive. When you get down to about an hour and half to two hours to go, pop in TSO’s Beethoven’s Last Night. Excellent variety…

Rush YYZ

Rush YYZ

Ooooohhh.... DEFINITELY!! Slide that one in after BTBW...

Red Barchetta comes after BTBW D! :)

If Jethro Tull’s Thick as a Brick counts as one song, it will help about 45 minutes of your journey go by nicely. Also, I always thought Led Zeppelin’s Achilles Last Stand was a good driving song.

Excellent choices there Kev!

ah a ah a ah ahhhhhhh ah a ah a ahhhhhhhhh so cool with Plant’s voice and Page playing the guitar riff.

Page? Who’s Page? runs for cover

A load of Zep will carry you a long way. Those guys were way ahead of their time. A lot if guitar technique snobs pick on Pagey… say he’s sloppy… I WISH I were that “sloppy”!

Mercury Blues! Steve Miller

Definitely not the best, but on a road trip from san antonio to portland i stuck aerosmith’s “Pump” in the auto-reverse tape deck of the t-top camaro iroc when i left S.A. and it didn’t come out until Pueblo. i think it went back in from Rock Springs, Wy. to somewhere around Pendleton, Or. I’m not any kind of real Aerosmith fan, so I don’t know how that happened; it just kinda did.

Joe Walsh
The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get

Great, keep 'em coming!

Joe Walsh - that is a great album.
Just Rocky Mountain Way and Meadows over and over would do it for me.

Also, there was a Classic Tracks recently (last month?) on BTBW - interesting read.

But I dunno about this Rush crap!

Bob Seger has got me down a lot of highway.

Just omit "Turn the Page"... It's a good song... Seger is cool and all... it's just that "Turn the Page" brings immediately to mind the TERRIBLE covers of it I have been forced to endure over the years... Of course, if it doesn't make YOU want to shove ice-picks in your ears... go for it!

Mine is "inna gada da vida" ewwwh

Tulls ‘Thick as a brick’ will play havoc with your driving…Too many time changes :p (probably my favorite album)

Suggestions: Jessica and Ramblin Man (Allman Brothers), Drivers Seat(Sniff n the Tears), Lazy (Deep Purple), Living Proof (Wishbone Ash), Nantucket Sleighride (Mountain), Fever (Southside Johnny)

Definitely Bob Seger: Roll me Away, The Fire Inside, No Man’s Land, Hollywood Nites…

just take me with you, You drive and I’ll operate the sound system
Good Luck!
