1010LT issue: popping while recording

Mulitrack Recording produced pops

ISSUE:
I recorded a group 8 tracks with ONE take. No over dubs. I have added no Efx. However, I get a popping noise while playing the track back. I’ve also tried a single track and I still get the same results.

WHAT I HAVE TRIED:
From the previous post, I have tried each of the things if a suggestion was given. So far I have had no luck.

If you have a 1010LT working with no popping during your recordings please list your computer specs as well any information for ntrack or your card. While I know that this is vague, maybe throught this discussion we can figure out the difference so that others can fix theirs issues as well.

It’s not just the LT, or the 1010 for that matter. I’ve had the same problem for months and can’t seem to resolve it either. Flavio doesn’t seem to care either. :(

Check out these threads and you may find your answer… I have not been so lucky…

I’m sorry to hear that this has been an issue for other people as well.

I’m going to install the multitrack program that came with my card and see if I get the same results. If I don’t then I know it’s an ntrack issue. Who knows maybe I’ll switch or upgrade to protools.

Like i said, if we can somehow isolate the issue more we can make a request to Flavio. I’d rather not make a switch at this point. But I also cannot continue to NOT recording.

Look at the previous threads more complete listed. on one there is a post about a program to reset you vid cards PCI latency. This seems to be helping some folks.

99% Fixed

I used this program http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=951

and set the latency for my video card to 96.

On a 4min 20 sec record i heard a little glitch toward the end. But I think I can figure out what that was.

I can’t blame ntrack for this one…HOWEVER, it should be a sticky and included in the help section of the software tutorial.

That fixed it for you? Do you have a PCI vid card? Mines not PCI. :(

no mine is AGP.

It works for AGP cards because they still hog the pci bus anyway from what I understand

I use 1010LT with N v4.0, build 1845 and was mixing a song with 30 tracks, 4 groups w/ EQ & comp, 3 aux busses w/ verb just this weekend and nothing went bump anywhere (CPU usage never got above 60%). I’m running a P4 at 1.8Ghz w/ 1GB RAM, Windows 2000SP4, seperate drives, current Delta drivers, etc… Keep tweaking the latency settings for your devices and the buffering. The right combination for your machine is in there somewhere.

I’ve just installed build 1957, and now I can set buffering to “Extra Low” with a Delta 44 and WDM drivers with no pops or clicks (before I was having to run at “Medium Buffering”). Not sure whether it’s something at my end or n-track that has changed, but it’s worth giving it a try.

[Edit]Spoke too soon - it’s come back again after a reboot[/Edit]

You’re running a Delta 44 using WDM? I thought they didn’t run on WDM- just ASIO and MME? Wrong, obviously? The 1010LT doesn’t use WDM, I read in the adverts for it.

The Delta 44 definitely supports WDM and I’d be surprised if the 1010LT didn’t as the drivers come in the same install package. Check out here for details.

Glad I asked! I’d looked at some discount outlet’s web page and got my information. Just goes to show ye. :p

Thanks for the heads-up!

Well, I got tired of trying to hunt down the popping. And for many other reasons I have switched to PT 6.8

No popping at all!

I may use n-track for some things but PT integrates so well with my 1010lt. Thank you for you help on this and I hope that you find your solution.

I also am having “pops” issues on my tracks.
I use - Echo Layla(20-bit) (8 inputs)

I use the PureWave setup. Any info to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
