a chat room ?

Back Agai:

Here’s a chat room that is Free and works very well…
as much as I know…

PhreikChat

You can use any ID and password combination you choose…
e.g.
Your n-Track log-in and Password would work nice…

Of course… this is just a suggestion…
Guests can log on…
Moderators can control just who signs-in…

Any type of Room that works and is Free is the Bee’s Knee’s…
However, That’s what I think…

Bill…

Hi Poppa Willis:

Let me go to that link again…
I’ll see how it tries to open again…

brb…

Bill…

[EDIT]

I think I have all the Java and Active X controls I need…
Is that funny…
You think I know…

Anyway, the nag screen says that it has bolcked the software from running because it can’t verify the publisher…
To me…
That means that it’s Window’s Issue…
Could that be correct…
????

[EDIT 2]

Is there something here that I can navigate to to by-pass or defeat or turn-off on this machine? …
to allow me to see this link?

If there is, that would be easy…

[EDIT 3}

If it ain’t one thing with these Boxes, It’s a half dozen… I’m thinking out loud… Can you hear me?? As an alturnitive… Could that msn PhreikChat Room be linked to open with-in n-Track’s Forum… ??

That’s the idea Bill - to test it and be able to have a Live Chat topic here in the forum. Check your security options - which browser you using?

I use Internet Explorer v7.0.5730.13
Everyone I run into is telling me to dump this a go to What is it?
FireFox and Mozilla and be done with it…
Even my server and the guy over there is after me…
Big-Time…
Then everyone is wondering why I even have a Modem-and-Dial-up…

:p
:p

It’s so antiquated…
it hurts…

I guess I’m just one of the Old-School Guys…

Where can I go in Internet Explorer to allow this address to be by-passed and run…
????
I don’t see it as a Panda Anti-Virus 2008 issue…
At least Panda doesn’t seem to be involved with this issue…

Bill…

Back Again:
I am at the Java Download page… I may not have the latest version installed… I’m downloading v5.1 now… We’ll see if this works…

Bill…

Tools… (upper right in the browser - IE7)
Internet Options (menu)
Security (Tab)
Trusted Sites (click the big green check)
Add these website to the zone:

Enter the website’s URL and click Add

Tell us what’s in there already.

Mine has these:
.fasoft.com
.hotmail.com
.line6.com
.live.net
.msn.com
.msnbc.com
.ntrack.com
.passport.com

The “*” is a wildcard that means anything at that site (www and all subdomains).

This is required for some sites to work, such as my MSN email account and getting the Line6 site to work properly for some things.

when i typed in the message box. the software froze my PC - so i uninstalled JAVA and tried again just to see if the app was standalone (required no JAVA to be installed) it worked OK for a while till i tried to change the tone played when people come on line - it took about a minute before the tone played then it locked my PC again - since then i have not been able to logon as it says i an already there - so i re-installed JAVA but cannot test it out again as it can no longer contact the server and the pictures are not being downloaded either -

so it looks like that you do not need JAVA to be installed for it to work but if you do have JAVA installed it will use what is on your PC - if the JAVA logo is in the centre of the box youre using the applicatins JAVA if it is an orange JAVA logo set to the left of the box then thats the latest version of JAVA that is resident on your PC -

PS - on dialup and using Win 2000 SP4 -

Dr J

Hi Again Gents:

I think I have stalled n-Track Forum…
Checking…

Bill…

[EDIT]

I wanted to post this earlier…
I’m doing a copy-and-paste of what stalled and didn’t allow me to post this reply…

Thanks phoo:

Actually, there appears to be none/nothing in there…
They refer to addresses that should be there as
htttps:// type of addresses…
The only addres I see there is http://ntrack.com
IT is on the top line…
But not installed in the area you refer to…
There are no other addresses in there or on that screen…
like the ones you refer to…

However, it can’t be entered to the coloum because it is not prefixed with https://

I’ve never played with anything in there…
It would be nice to have some knowledge as to how this area works…

Copy-and-paste from your reply:

Mine has these:
.fasoft.com
.hotmail.com
.line6.com
.live.net
.msn.com
.msnbc.com
.ntrack.com
.passport.com

None of these addresses are anywhere near this area/screen…

However, I recognize all the links that are on your list…
all of this is quite common to places I visit or go to…

What next Gents ????
How do I proceed…
?

Bill…

[EDIT]

I’m still downloading this Java Utility…
The screen says it copying files… But it seems to have “Stalled” …
The progress bar has not moved in a while…
BUT I know there is information comming down…

O.K.
Java “Standard Edition” appears to have been installed … I see an icon
on the lower right-hand corner of the Task-Bar…

However, the n-Track Forum Page appears to be stalled…
I am gonna reboot and see what-is-what…

[EDIT]
Again:

Was that ever weird…

[EDIT Again 1}
I will check the Java Version number…

v6 update 6 (build 1.6.0_06-b02)

Hi Gents:

I’m back again to report that the Java Utility install worked just fine.
After a couple of re-boots of this machine I now have the chat room up-and-running and all…
I was over to the chat room…
however, no one is there…
I entered some remarks…
But if no one is there they wouldn’t be seen…
I am sure…
I did a copy-and-paste of what I wrote there but Copy-and-pastes don’t work from a Chat room…
I guess…
Thank you gents for getting me up-and-running…

Bill…

tried to logon to the chatroom again - but it said the server was not available although this time it downloaded the members pictures - then after a minute or two my PC froze and then it goes to a black screen -

looks like this app is a bit of a duffer although TECHNICALLY IT IS MY FAULT AS I POSTED THE LINK FOR THIS SOFTWARE TO PW as it looked OK also this is the free (family and friends) version and the pro version looks altogether a different animal but is it worth paying for the pro version if it is still duf- maybe PW should take this one down and try another -

Dr J

I tried it from my standalone at work which is dialup. No problem…ping time was around 350 if I remember correctly.

Hope it works. I think its a good idea for new peeps that have a question and need an answer quickly.

cliff

I’m waiting now for another ap to send me demo codes - we’ll try another.

That one appeared to work pretty well Poppa. Lots of other folks having problems?

D

a couple - no hurry on it though - we’ll check around

Hey Doc Wabbitt - we got Bill Woxner working fine - see if you can join us and get the thing working - we all like it now

Hi n-Track Users…

poppa dio and I had a test drive on the Chatroom… It seemes as though chin-wagging (on the Chat Board) for us at least works like a charm…
I am (we are) so lucky to be around this Board and to have these clever Board guys pointing me (us) in the direction that gets this machine to behave…

Well… You know what I mean…

Bill…

I was actually able to log in and converse this time, so maybe there’s hope for me after all. (Well, having something worth saying would be helpful.)
