And all of a sudden I’m likin Sarah Paylin
Smart move Sarah!

She wouldn’t be my first choice to be our next president, but I think highly of the woman.

It's just me Kevin, I got a little tired of trickles.
This move might open doors for her, if she wants any.
But don't ya think the republican party was just using her, for the soul purpose of going up against Hillary?
Sure there are planty who don't care for Hillary, but Sarah was a puppet imo. Plenty smart, great lookin.

John McCain selected her with the hope she’d bring some energy to his campaign, but I seriously doubt he saw her as the best possible replacement if something happened to him were he to be elected. He should have selected Mit Romney, but for whatever reason, those two just don’t like each other. I don’t think that would have gotten him elected though.

True, Obama would have given anyone a run for it.

Did you see this pic of Mrs. Palin from Runners World.

Is that Russia outside her window there?

kinda underdressed for alaska or siberia or wherever she is. i didn’t know you could even find an outfit like that in vladivostok.

Forgive a foreigner offering his opinion on your political situation, but…

In my view, Sarah Palin is the single largest reason that Obama is in the Whitehouse today. I think she tipped the balance and ensured a(n otherwise doubtful) victory for the Democrats.

If the Republicans want to pretty well guarantee a Democratic win they should, by all means, nominate her for President.

Forgive ME Bill... but you're wrong. The Repubs had NO chance in '08. None. It wouldn't have mattered a twit who they ran for Pres/VP. My wifes dog would have won if he'd been the Democratic nominee. Who knows? He might have made a good President! :p

D

Sarah Palin is toast now. I don’t have a clue what this woman is up too but she will not be able to continue blaming the media and comedians for her problems for long.

re: Bill Clark
Bill - I think (opinion) that if the economy had not tanked - and remember this was the tank of all tanks that affected not just the US, but countries even such as Iceland, the US would have had another Republican administration. In this case money - or lack of money - talked. Plus the backlash to the Iraq war. As far as the war is concerned, nothing will change except it’s location. The US economy after transfering a couple of trillion from tax payers (middle class)to banks who now own real estate and other assets bought at unbelievably deflated prices will probably see an inflation cycle. Obama, essetially, has to leverage many times the actual wealth of the country to pay for socialistic programs (expanding government management)in order to maintain control.
In a nutshell - we are screwed for many years to come. Short of a revolt.
But as long as the ‘twitter brain’ masses continue naive self-indulgence, they will just adjust to the new lowered standard of living and freedom.
Sara will be back, because she represents an oppostition to this scenario. Although unpolished at this point, the power of the image masters will transform her to a female Ronald Reagan. Wait and see.

Excellent points 7o’11.

I don’t think we would have had another Repub admin though. The “machine” pretty much saw to that. Obama was touted too strongly and there was so much anti-Bush/Repub sentiment going on, there’s no way a Repub could have won in '08 IMO. I mean, here we had a junior senator with no real experience to speak of versus a seasoned, vastly experienced Repub. When such senseless sentiment swings the other way, as you and I (probably the only two in the world at the moment!) know it will, the Repubs will get in again. Will it be Sarah Palin? I don’t know… but I might vote for her… again.

If Obama and the Dems get a second term and continue taking us down this path… Oy! We are screwed… worse…

As far as the “Twitter Brains” go… get a load of this;

Ed McMahon - Distinguished Marine Corps pilot with 6 medals and reached the rank of Colonel. Served in the CA Air National Guard where he reached Brigadier General. Great entertainer and by all accounts, a great person.

Farrah Fawcett - After a long career in Hollywood, was diagnosed with cancer and spent her last years as an activist for cancer treatment and research. Documenting her own struggle to encourage other cancer patients to stay positive despite their diagnosis and suffering.

Michael Jackson - The undoubted King of Pop. Great entertainer. One of the greatest of all time. He was also known as an extremely eccentric person, sleeping with a chimp, living in a carnival like atmosphere at Neverland, a fascination with Peter Pan, a huge obsession with masks and costumes. Despite being acquitted of child molestation charges, he paid out millions to the families of a few young boys. An eccentric to say the least… “Freak” might be more appropriate…

All died in the same week.

Who did the House of Reps hold a moment of silence for? It wasn’t Ed or Farrah.

Which family received a personal note of condolence from President Obama? It wasn’t Ed’s or Farrah’s…

I know the HR and President can’t oblige every person or their family that passes no matter who they are. This is “twitter brained” self aggrandizement pure and simple. An opportunity to ride on the media coat tail of this poor misguided eccentric entertainers death.

That speaks volumes to this poor old country boy… what a messed up society we live in eh?

Some might say “D? You’re just a cold hearted S.O.B.!” No. I just think everyone’s life is valuable and no one is “worth” more than any other. This “idol worship” BS has and will continue to play a large role in the moral and ethical decline of humanity.

D

PS S’cuse me whilst I climb down off’n this here soap box…

D - everyone can see the misplaced over-the-top hype. It’s out of control and here to stay. Unfortunately.

Also - you may be right about the election.

Nah - it was the economy.

You guys don't really take Palin seriously, do you?
I mean, she's not exactly wise or thoughtful.

:D You got it!
I sure don't, might also have something to do with that northern accent.
Sorry Sarah!
But the fems of the world will make use of any Lady in the spotlight.
But what do I know, I play the devils music! She's opinionated and out spoken!

I readily admit to being woefully under-informed on this issue. I just remember watching the poll results come in and, yeah, the electoral vote was overwhelming but the popular vote (which, granted, Bush Lite proved doesn’t really mean anything) just seemed so even and I remember thinking: "If not for the grace of Sarah Palin…"

Don’t get me wrong - other than his wacky economic policies - I think John McCain has a lot to offer. But electing Obama just seemed like such a natural thing for you to do, I guess I sort of expected a landslide.

Anyway, I do think Obama ought to include Palin in his prayers of gratitude. I really think you’d have seen a different result if the GOP had put up a real candidate for Veep, instead of just trying to placate the Rush Limbaugh crowd.

Sarah Palin won’t ever be president because she is way too American, which most of the so-called citizens of this country aint.

Whoa… spoken like someone with an Alaskan spirit! :agree:
