All you AxeCrankers..

Here’s a link…

Hi All:

I found this link in my mailbox this morning…
Right away I thought of you guys (Guitar Players and Drummers and Bass Players and All) that hang around here…

An AustinCityLimits Program

I don’t see that it’s protected… It’s a PBS Network Broadcast…

These guys are musically correct…
Well…

ya gotta like this stuff…

If I had a dialup I’d pass over this…
I find I’m unable to leave it there…
I took me about 5 minutes of download time…

Bill…

I’ll grab it later Bill - thanks - I’m cleaning my hard drive of anything not absolutely needed today - little housekeeping. I’m down to only 8 gigs on this machine and it’s time to tidy up, and free up some space.

50 gigs in 80 days.

Yet another challenge !!

i bet a little video porn would take care of that. make sure it's in HD for maximum file size.

not that i know anything about that. not that i would ever support such an endeavor. ever. but if one were double-dared...

Thx Bill :agree:

Yes thanks, he is one of the great pickers for sure.
And very entertaining with the beer and towel tricks. Usually when I start pouring beer on my guitar it is time to stop playing, but it was time for him to kick it up a notch.

pappa,
what is your housekeeping strategy? my hd is full and i need to clean house.
tia
don

Grab a handfull of DVD’s and copy old song’s and wav’s to 'em.
Probly never need 'em again - but you know how we are…
Oh and a sharpie…

Oh and a sharpie....

If your burner can do dual layer DVD's it's a lot better, 8.5 gigs per.

Sharpie, the best tool I own! (Now if I could only read my handwriting)

He comments to his audience that he’s been playing for 50 years… However, when the show was recorded he just signed a recording contract…
This guy has one HoT Stage…
I don’t ever recall his name…
???
However, he paid his dues…
Was he a studio musician
????
That keyboard player is one multi-talented dude…

Bill…

BTW - for us with no hi-speed, who is it in the Austin City Limits video?

Oh and a sharpie....

Hey guys? DO yourself a favor and grab a couple of pens designed for marking on CD and DVD media if you are going to use them for archiving. The ink in 'Sharpie' brand markers can seep through and damage the data layer of CD/DVD's. If you MUST use the 'Sharpie', write on the very edge of the disc.

Better yet... you can get TB external hard disks now for a little over a hunnert bucks. HUGE amount of backup and almost instantly retrievable. A TB drive with Firewire or eSata will even run very large projects straight from the external disk without copying them over to an internal drive.

Best yet... do both. :agree:

D

Thanks for the tip there Tim. Been trying to save for an out drive. That would be best.

Got me one - already half full with backups.
Yeh - that's my new strategy. Keep the software on C: and everything else on external drives. Now backups only take about 10 minutes.

Hi sevenOfeleven:

That PBS Show featured Danny Gratton…
I have no idea who he is or where he comes from…
I know his mother had somethin’ to do with it…
:p
:;):
However, this guy puts on a great show…
and the guys that works with him are tops…
The drummer and bass player knows the beds…

Bill…

Hi Gents:

Now that I’ve moved beyond all those P-111’s and P-4’s
I am using those eSATA types of drives and burners and all…
They are still internally connected/inside the boxes…
however, they are 500 gig. + drives…
They are the Segate 32 meg, cache types…
This one machine that I have is full of drives…
I think there’s 3.5 TB of storage space in one of the machines…

I don’t think I’ll ever run out of drive space…
BUT…
I shudder think what-or-how much data I stand to loose if one of those drives fail…
???
:p

Hey Bill...funny thing...you look just like a guy I beat the crap out off a few years back in a baroom fracus down in Biloxi after a gig. He insulted my amp. His name was 'Norb Bublick'. Ring a bell by chance?

Hey Jass:

I was in Biloxi late January '96…
I had to get off the I-10 to fuel and have breakfast… Was it CoLd ????
NO…
it was about 22 degrees… There was ice in the puddles… It was record cold temperatures all along the coast… I came outta Florida… on my way to New Orleans… I drove all night…
What a long old road…

Are you sure that crusty piece of plywood and transistors, didn’t deserve to be S**t on ????
I’d say you were lucky…
Those duds down there are loaded with cousins…
If they had a mind to, they’d leave you like a spot of grease on the floor with no place to use it…
:p
