Ange's CD... at long last!

Sorry, Ange!

I’m just chin-waggin, waiting for the order to arrive…
It still ain’t here…
I’m gettin ant’sey…

sorry ange… I’m just keeping the thread on top…

I saw the Canada Post Crow overhead yesterday…
He circled a couple of times…
BUT
No “Windmills and Wishes”…

:)

Bill…

[EDIT] Hershey Bears…
????

They’re one tough organization… when it comes to Hockey…

Hi ange and Rob:

Guess What ????

It arrived in my letter box today…
I just got home from work…
It’s 3:48 pm my time…
I’ve been on the road sense 6 am this morning…
The concentration level is worn pretty thin…
We’re having a good downpour of rain this afternoon…
The driving is treacherous, to say-the-least… We need it…
The woods are tinder-dry…

Anyway, I think I’ll take some photos of it before I open it…
I think it’s Rob’s initials on the bottom of the customs sticker…
It’s dated
“08/06/10”…

Thank you Rob and ange…

:)
:agree:

Thank you ange and Rob for letting me hi-jack your topic,

AgAiN

:;):

Bill…

Have no fear TonyR…
I’m in the Studio working on re-wiring and setting up the repro/monitor system…
I hope to complete the wiring-and-setup over the weekend… We’ll be using “Windmills and Wishes” with the new repro setup…

Hey, I’ll get you one of those for free, just send me $1699 shipping and handling and it will be yours within the week! :)

Yea gotta DeaL…

Just don’t ship it over her-ah by Canada Post…
I might not survive the wait-time…
:p
:p

I got a new DJ Mixer ordered for the DJ Desk…
I’m hoping it’ll arrive today so I can get that Desk up-and-running…
and in place in the studio…
I got so much work to-do out there…

shakes-head-and-sighs…

Will it ever get done ????

I want to get those “TUBE” mic preamps running and get that CEO MK 1 mic set-up in the sweet-spot…
and…
and…

Well…

Bill…

p.s.
Sorry ange…

You know how it is…

Chin-wag…
Chin-wag…

hehe… lol…

You mean the Northern preamps, if I remember correctly?

I have four of them out in the studio ready to run…

along with the power supply…
I have six or eight more however, I don’t think I need any more than four…
I need to mount them up in the rafters and get them off the floor…
I just need access them to adjust levels in-and-out… I need to modify them to accept “Phantom Power”…
OR

buy an external Phantom Power Unit to have the option to connect Phantom Powered microphones to them…
I think I have photos of them up on woxnerw
webshots…
I just checked…
NO Northern Electric Mic Preamps up there…
I’ll have to take some photos of them and update the photo blog…
The original photos I had of them were taken with my Radio Shack 59.00 camera…
They may have been posted on the yahoo photo page…
Could be, they are on my homepage…
along with that CEO MK1 mic I made…
Anyway, I have lots of work ahead of me out there…
It just doesn’t seem to stop…

For anyone who might be interested…
I am officially retiring at the end of this school term…
I have six more days of work left…
I submitted my notice last week…
I’m all done…

Bill…

p.s.
Sorry Again…

ange and Rob…
for hi-jacking your topic…

Wow, congrats on the retirement, Bill! Must be retirement time this summer, my wife’s dad is retiring as well. He’s a musician, too. Lots of time for playing and recording, now!

Congrat’s Bill.
When’s the official studio opening date?

Hi Gents:

Retirement, to me, means it should give me more time to do what I want to do…
However, I hear from some that their daily TO-DO list has doubled, if not, tripled…

Changing the subject…
SorrY ange, hehehe. lol…

The other week I got some mail from the Ford Motor Company saying that the pickup I have was being recalled for an emergency brake update…
I took it in for the recall…
The Service Writer Girl took all the information from the truck , as well, the odometer reading…
She looked at me and brought the other Service People over to the look at the odometer clock…
You see, to me, the truck is seven months old now… The clock reading only has just over 3500 kms. on it… Most people around here puts that mileage on their cars in a week…
So, everyone in the shop had a big laugh at me-and-my truck…
That was a month ago…
So, this week I took it back to get the wheels re torqued…
So, every one in the shop came over to look at the odometer reading…
They all had a big laugh at it, again…
I put just short of 350 kms. on the truck this month…
I really got to take it out on the road and knock the snot out of the engine…

Back to the topic…
Hi-Jack…
hehe

Anyway, studios, as you all are aware, are all Works-In-Progress…
They should never get finished…
I’m forever, updating something in there…
My plan is, to construct a pair of Isolation Boxes…
I’m working on their design…
It’s all upstairs, at-the-moment…
I plan to use those Class A Williamson Design 6L6 amps to power them…
Then, I want to use a pair of those Northern Electric Preamps along with a pair of AKG KM 184 type phantom powered mics for the return circuits… My idea is, to install all that stuff up in the rafters…
We’ll see how the summer goes with the ISO-Boxes, on the agenda…

I have a new DJ Mixer ordered for the DJ Desk… It will replace the mixer that’s set-up, there now…
It should arrive early next week…
We’ll see… The mixer is a VMX 1000 DJ Mixer

Working on this studio setup never seems to end…

Bill…

p.s.
I often wondered what it might be like to retire…
????
I think I’m gonna find out Sooner-Than-Later…
???
:)

Hi ange, Rob and All:
I am back on topic…

I’ve updated the Ange Hardy Windmills and Wishes Photo Page… I referenced/played the CD through the Aleisis Masterlink then listened using all the Monitor/Speaker Systems I have at the Studio’s disposal…

BEAUTIFUL… For what it’s worth (from a Bluenoser) and a technical Producer’s-and-Engineering-and-Mastering perspective, Windmills and Wishes (Olly, Rob and Sam) at Precise Mastering should be so proud of their energy input to this Project… BEAUTIFUL…

Hey, the people in front of the mics, did O.K. Too… :) :p  AND … So is the Art Work in the Jewel Case… :agree: :)

What a great accomplishment…

Bill…

Hi ange:

I have a feeling it’s gonna go much slower now …
I’ll have no pocket money coming in…
:)
:disagree:

No more extra loonies to buy studio toys…
:)
:p
I’m gonna have to go out and scour the streets for recyclables…

Yea gotta have money for studio toys…

Bill…

I have a question about the actual windmill in the artwork. Is the said windmill “green” operating off of true wind-power, or is this one of those faux-windmills like you see in the Netherlands that are constructed as tourist attractions for all of the knuckleheads who come to buy tulip bulbs and clogs? In other words, is it a real functioning grist-mill with the stone grinders for rendering wheat, or is there like a hidden diesel engine in the back room to turn the fans for effect? If the said windmill were water powered from a dike, taht would be optionally acceptable. This is important because I feel that the jewel-case artwork should be socially aware in these times of eco-friendliness. This is especially true in light of the BP Oil spill.

Or…is the said windmill merely a figment of the artist’s imagination…some type of subliminal romantic incarnation of a childhood perception? Something like that? :;):

I dunno, I think we need a pomo deconstruction of the windmill as actuality and as metaphor. Flanders, how is your grasp of Derrida?

and zaum?

No, no no. You have it all wrong. Deconstructionist analysis is the wrong path. You're chasing a red herring. One must look to Kafka for the real insight on this.
