any video folks here?

I have 3 AVI’s at 11 seconds each that I want to combine into one master 33 second commercial.
What would I use to do that with on a PC?

Windows Movie Maker?

.

Sony Vegas

I don’t have it but hear it’s the bee’s knees for video. The Sony Vegas Movie Studio version is a lite version that is relatively cheap but very powerful. I’m planning on buying one of these days. (If Obama saves us all…) :p

I’ve seen it for ~ 85 bux before…

Thanks D - think I’ll take it to my drummer who’s a prof at the college in the media dept. :agree:

This also gets good reviews and I’ve seen it at Bestbuy for $34.99…

I may end up with that one… Sony tends to tick me off soooo…

That one looks good - Sony would come with a gazillion dll’s too that they like to toss in everything they produce.

oh - forgot - chicken!

Chicken movies? What are you, Gonzo from the Muppet’s?

Pops,

MS Movie Maker is okay to start with and a good learning tool. Great beginners program and to get an understanding of how vid editing works. Easy to out-grow quickly.

I found Vegas very unintuitive with a, hard to get what I wanted work flow and menu structure.

I now use Adobe Premier. For me it has a better media management interface. The layout of the program reminded me of many audio multitracking programs. It felt very comfortable to work with from the get go.

my 2 cents

VirtualDub is free and will combine .avi files if they are all formatted the same.

I tried MS Movie maker and it left artifacts in the join points - couldn’t get it to look not spliced no matter how I feathered or not. Virtual dub crashed on me. 3, 2 gig files were too much for it I reckon.

Back to plan b and call on my prof. buddy at the college.

I forgot I had Adobe’s stuff at my old office. Been so long since I’ve been there.
Economy flat killed one of my companies.

Eyup!

I use AVIDEMUX for simple editing and joining files. It’s more known as a Linux program, but there is a widows version too.
Like all these types of programs, there is a bit of a learning curve, but I find it easier to use than VirtualDub.

AVIDEMUX is free and open-source. There is a good beginners tutorial on the home page (look for the WIKI docs).

Thanx! I’ll check it out.

Corel Video Studio Pro x2 is what I use puppa, easy to use. Dependable, and logical. Nice program for the money.
