Hey guys yet another questions (since ya’ll were so helpful with my last one…tee hee)
I was thinking of upgrading my mixer as well.
I have had the Behringer for a few years now and never had a problem with it…although if I listen to my recordings there is a certain level of detectable hiss, never really took notice to it before.
Of course now that I am going to firewire interface (the pre-mentioned M-audio) and the deluxe CAD, it seems only fitting that I invest in a step up mixer.
My price range is $100 and I would need at least 1 XLR and one other input along with two RCA outs to go into the fw interface.
I have seen a few really small name brand ones for around 40-60 but they only have 1/4 inch inputs (four channel mixers)
I don’t necessarily need phantom power since the new mic comes with it’s own power supply and is 7pin anyway, but would like to have it in case I pick up a few small condensers (like the Karmas…
I did see a Mackie (Tapco) for $79 seemed descent…
The cheapest Shure I could find was $200 out of my league.
Samson seems affordable for me but don’t know to much about them.
I did see a Peavey though for $120…slightly high but perhaps willing to make the stretch if the end product will justify it.
Any advice would be helpful brand names or models that will be of superior quality to the Behringer and reasonable price.

Which FW interface Jerm? I can’t find where you mentioned the model?
I have not seen any pricing lately and for the life of me, can’t remember the model, but Soundcraft had/has a nice little mixer for computer audio work. If I remember correctly it could be had for somewhere between 15 and 200 bucks. Buncha write-ups I read gave it good reviews.

PS Here it is at Sweetwater http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Compact10

Thanks for the tip, I checked out the soundcraft, good price for one of that size and features.
I've never heard of that brand, but then again I do not rub elbows with the industry pro's so I'm more of a bottom feeder when it comes to knowing what names are good!

Did you guys ever hear of or have any experience with Alesis? or Mackie? Tapco? Alto AMX?
There are some pretty sweet deals going on right now on these brands…just wondering if any of them are reputable.
