Available for downloading
Hi Gents:
This morning I downloaded build 2409…
I just Updated my P-111 XP machine to b2409…
However, when I checked the about screen of n-Track I see that the build of n-Track shows b2407…
I’m downloading b2409 again in case I made and error in installing the latest build…
I never had b2407 downloaded…
It’s strange that b2407 would show in the “About” screen… I re-installed b2408 and that build shows in the “About” screen
correctly…
It takes me about 1 hour to download a current build of n-Track with my modem-and-dialup…
sigh…
I wonder if any of you have the latest build installed and do you see b2409 in your “About” screen… ?
Bill…
Mine says 6.0.2 2409
Oh my! My name just scrolled up as a beta tester on the about screen…
I better get to earnin’ my props! that’s just embarrassing.
How long has that been there?
Hi Poppa Willis:
I just finished the download and updated the build/version…
All is fine now…
I don’t remember encountering that issue in the past…
Anyway, build 2409 shows in the “About” screen… I have no idea how b2407 got installed…
I don’t have that install file anywhere around my set-up…
I’ve seen your name in the “About” screen sense v6 beta builds first appeared on the download page…
Along with Bax Taylor…
Is that who-is Bax 3
?
Good-for-You Gents…
Bill…
Glad you got it installed Bill - yep that’s Bax.
No vsti’s are listed in the channel effects window to add to a track. They are listed and show up when I click the settings button - but do not appear in the channel effects window to choose from.
Hi Bill,
Think 2409 is a “clip mute” fix. Should be a good one!
Levi
Betta tester!
Intruments show in scan…
But not in list…
Every time I hit the record button 2409 crashes like a sack of doorknobs…and the program closes and tries to dial home…sigh…I guess I will roll back until this is fixed

Correction…if I remove the SIR plugin from Aux 1 it runs pretty well…still have to set the buffers on my ASIO control panel as high as they will go to prevent pops and clicks…

Hi rsolinski:
That’s a real drag… It’s tough… However, this is something you might consider doing… If it were a choice for me to consider I would allow n-Track and the failure to “dial home” and allow Flavio to have a peak at the .dmp file… He might be able to see the cause and create a “FIX” in a new build for what could benefit your setup…
Bill…
Not possible since there is no internet connection in my studio…I wish there was a way to save it so I could port it over to my internet machine (the one I am on now) and send it to him…
Ray
Hi rsolinski:
I should know where to locate the .dmp file/folder…
However, I can’t find it…
Someone up here might be able to point you to where it can be found…
You can send it off to Flavio as an attachment…
You may have several of them…
The “Late ones” would be more important to him…
He may be able to refine the coding in a new build that would FIX the issue you have…
Who Knows…
?
Bill…
I’m pretty sure the .dmp file was changed to a .txt file with version 6. Go to Documents and Setting/ (your log-in name) / Application Data/n_Track Studio6 and look for the log.txt. There is also a vst.txt file that might be relavent here.
Both are small files an can be sent the Flavio by email attachment.
Bax
I found the .dmp file created by Ntrack after the latest crash and sent it off to Flavio…it is not a .txt ot log file…it was pretty big (9 meg)…I will see what he comes up with. Another interesting note…When using the WDM drivers, if I uncheck the “keep audio devices open” box I get a lag (on the indicator in N) while recording …If I uncheck it there is no record lag but both playback and record take a few seconds to stop…playback actually stops but it takes a few seconds for the machine to idle…While mixing it is best to have it checked since lag is not an issue and playback starts and stops instantaneously…hmmm…? More and more I am thinking it is the Delta XP drivers and not always N…except for the aformentioned crash…
Ray
More and more I am thinking it is the Delta XP drivers
Keep sending bug data to Flavio Ray. Too many people are having great success with the Delta series with other softwares for the above to be 100% true.
I'm sure Flav would appreciate the error logs if you can get them to him.

Actually, there are many people having problems with the Delta series all over the audio world…I checked out the Cubase and Logic forums and seems like I am not alone. I had NO problems with Ntrack, Delta and Win2k…When I went to a P4 (my old machine was an AMD) and XP all he!! broke loose. I may format up a different C drive with WIN2K, the Delta and N just as an experiment. N runs fine on this machine which is essentially the same (p4 2.8, XP)…the only difference is this internet/office machine uses the onboard sound…
A good friend of mine has an identical setup as my studio and he is having exactly the same issues…I just can’t stop the scientist in me that wants to investigate and isolate variables. One disturbing thing I cam across came right out of the CEO of M-Audio’s mouth. Their driver development for xp was outsourced which explains the lack of good customer support. Seems they are all freaked out and working hard on the Vista problems. If I get this done i will post a report…no other crashes other than the repeatable one that I sent the .dmp file to flavio about…

Hi Gents:
There have been a few guys that have had Hardware and or Driver issues over the recent months that have moved on from the n-Track community…
Maybe, they were ready to move on anyway…
There was an Alabama guy (Yaz and Him used to trade Threads) and a guy from one of the Baltic Countries…
mwaha ?
was that his ID…
?
mawah, was unable to get n-Track and the Hardware he used to record in MONO Tracks…
I think that was the issue, with him…
It’s too bad…
these guys have so much to offer to the n-Track community with there audio experience-and-knowledge…
Anyway, and maybe these guys will re-appear and contribute to the Board…
again…
Who knows…
I have no reason to say this…
BUT…
I think these guys were and are part of the AMD Camp of the computer class… If you’re not in the Apple/Mac camp and you’re in the audio business I believe you should be in the Intel Camp…
I say this without trying to light any fires and support any partiality to what kind of computers to throw one’s hard-earned money at…
I sure have plenty of issues with these old P-111 and P4 Intel Boxes I have around here…
Just when I think I am ready to track and put creativity to-task, a fly gets in the ointment and I end up with Big-Time Issues to un-fathom…
Mainly, I think it’s trying to stay “Current” with these Service Packs and Windows/Microsoft Security Updates, and all…
and then my setups balking at the stress-of-it-all…
Well…
that’s what I think…
Bill…

Thanks for the details Ray. I had not heard that one about M-Audio outsourcing. That's a bit "disturbing" but I'd bet it goes on a lot in this game eh?
I'll admit that most of the guys I "talk" to these days are Reaper guys and it seems to work really well with just about anything. Beau coup guys running M-Audio Delta's over there. Hang in there, I'm sure Flavio will have you running soon.
As a matter of fact, I seem to recall an issue over "there" about the Delta cards... It seems Justin had to do some "trickery" on the Reaper side of things to get them working well. There have been several episodes of that kind of thing. It makes one think that Steinies "ASIO Standard" may not be all that and a bag of chips huh? Of course if you are wacked with WDM drivers too...
