Can't hear midi files with new sound card

EMU 1040 Proteus X

Just got the EMU 1040 Proteus X and seems to work fine except I can’t hear midi files. It comes Cube and can’t hear them in there either. Can hear the wave files and window sounds just fine.
The playback meters move as if playing the midi file but no sound.
I believe I have checked everything, but has anyone else had the same proplem? :(
Also in the windows playback (snd32) I can’t see a midi selection.

I assume you are trying to use the Proteus sounds. Have you loaded the Proteus VSTi, set your MIDI tracks to output to the VSTI, and then loaded a sound bank into Proteus?
