The talk around Tim’s this morning was how the Awards Show went, and all… We are hoping that the cup will be on display at the rink (Cole Harbour Place) and that all the kids and Hockey parents will make a Day out of it… Hopefully…
The talk was we all know who “Sid-the-Kid” is but it took Joe DiPenta to bring it In…
The Hockey Schools are filling up… Cole Harbour Place has two ice surfaces up and running… That may not be enough to run the schools… This is so good for the kids and families … that can afford it… Ice-time and travel is so expensive, these days…
If only they could do something for the kids and families that are unable to enroll… the crime level would be non-existent… Maybe… Then there are kids that just don’t fit being in sport’s schools… Well…
Anyway, they talked about Cam Russell and the Black Hawks, where Cam is the Head Coach of the Mooseheads here in Halifax… It’s a shame that the kids of that generation wasn’t protected from injury… but… that’s Hockey… Steward… that’s Cam’s Dad… we used to go to all the kids games back in the mid '70’s… My young fella center’d the line that Cam skated, on… What a time we had … going to all the rinks… Back then, there was only one sheet of ice here in the Harbour… So we had to go all over the place and at odd hours of the night-and-day to get practice time…
Bill…
[EDIT]
I don’t know TomS… That’s Delicate Ground to get stuck-in … Be Careful…
They say that Carolina Shine is top grade stuff… Next thing to “Rocket Fuel”… I hear that some of the stuff they make here is pretty good, as well… You gotta have a “Darkened” room to see it burn… so-they-say…

Don’t be so prosaic Tom.
The job of a poet is not to explain; that is something best left to the writers of technical manuals.
The job of a poet, is to launch the listener on a voyage of exploration of his own imagination; and those lines of yours - removed from their context of a silly game - are veritable lyrical launchpads.
OK, peri-grin-ator, but only as long as I can include this:

now my names john lee pettymore, same as my daddy and his daddy before…
C’mon with the lines, guys, and we’ll make it our own n-Track Wasteland. TSE would be proud - lots of obscure allusions - and then we’ll write a bogus commentary to explain them all…

And I still haven’t found any haggis for my son.
I’m going to ahve to use this as well:

You’re a bit behind the times Tom; the current exchange rate is: 2 sons + 1 goat for 1 gently used haggis.
It’s a sad sad fact, but the truth is, US currency in any form, just isn’t what it was.

Sad fact for whom?
Geez, sons are going cheap these days. Used to be it was 1 son = whole world saved.
What about daughters?
TSE = TS Eliot, just to make that clear.
I think I know a guy that plays a set of Electric Bagpipes… If you can use him I’ll ask him if he’s interested in puttin a track down for this song…
I got this USD bank account… They say the only thing I can do with it is to wait till Bush is out of Office… and… the passport waiting lines are getting longer and longer on both sides of the border…
