Get some of the regulars here to offer up a new jam/song.
And have that jam song packaged into a Compressed song file and sent to 5 producers.
More than 5 per contest would be a little much.
Here’s the catch the guys in the song are only playin this time.
No producers should be players in this particular contest.
It’s a contest for producing the song…
The 5 producers do that, produce it they way they hear it, no limitations.
Wouldn’t that be interesting to hear? 5 different produced versions!

I would say two producers right away should be GrumpyPops and Yaz.

I’d prefer a real song over a jam. Maybe one of the “writers” could do a guitar vocal or whatever and pass it out to produce? Also - could producers play on others productions and not their own?

Well the idea is to take the identical tracks. To compare the producer's vision, skills, and result.
But you could use real parts added to your production, as a producer you could add your real parts but you couldn't play on it.
And the other producers could use their pet chopin or production techniques.
No bars, a wide open imagination venue!
So it would have to have the exact player tracks in it.
We would need a moderator to accept the tracks, create the Packed File and send it out to each producer.
And then what the producers did with it after that point would be strictly wide open except for playing more parts into it.
There would be no losers here!
The very interesting thing would be to see how x amount of producers visualized the song and how it rendered out differently in the end.
Like 6 identical tracks but ending up as 5 totally different song arrangements.
I'm talking about producing more than eqing.
Ya a real song going into this could be a prize for a different contest.

A producer produces the parts though - what you’re talking about is more of an engineering contest. I would probably not want someone else’s intro or turnaround or ending just to name a few elements.
No it isn’t at least not in my mind. The engineer would set levells and hit record and make the players feel happy.
The producer has the vision for the end product and is the straw dog.

Does the cutting and pasting.
The one who tells the engineer to bring voices over guitars, leave that part out.
Play it over until it’s right.
Lets save the bridge for the last etc.

Except each player is responsible for sending in flat wav files.
With no eqing.
The song contest really doesn’t fit into this really.
Just have x amaount of players send in a single tack not eq’d.
Put it together Levi - ya don’t need me messin’ around in your idea.
