When the Styx hits the fan
Had the good fortune of doing a collaboration with a very impressive singer (calls himself Geordie) from the other side of the pond. The idea was to try doing the Styx classic “Come Sail Away” with acoustic guitar in the beginning of the song instead of piano. I built the backing track from a midi file and swapped in some soundfonts for the drums and keyboard sounds. Played the bass and all the guitars live (and a little bit of guitar synth too). Mixed it all in n-Track, but not sure what Geordie used to do record his part. Geordie adds some new dimensions to this song, plus a killer scream that is reminscent of the Who.
