Dieing Casio Ctk-1000

Need Replacement/Sampler?

My beloved CTK-1000 is in the midst of giving up the ghost. I have repaired this thing 7 or 8 times. Time to let it pass quietly. I love the sounds I get from this thing, use it for all of my string, piano, and organ stuff.

I would like its replacement to be able to sample like the old Casio-SK1. You could record 1.5 seconds of a sound directly into the machine. Anyone know of a machine around $150 or less that you can do this with? Fullsize weighted keys a plus.

Yeah I know Google it or search Sweetwater, Musicians Friend, Guitar Center

I’ll sell you my sk1 that I got at the thrift shop for $3.99 for 150 bucks.

Just kidding. I also have a 1000. You really like the sounds from it?

I have a PT-100 that’s lasted 2 generations of fat little sticky fingered kids.

Eveytime we go to a flea market or estate auction I'm looking for an SK1 or SK2.

I like the tone wheel, piano, organ, oboe, most of the horns, and some of the strings sounds out of the 1000. I split the headphones out into the mixer run 1 channel dry and put a VirtualizerPro in the effects chain of the other. Get some way cool sounds.

Huh. I picked them both up cheap b/c folks talk about them a lot here and there, but I haven’t used either very much. Must be missing something…
