Does anybody know of such a thing...

pocket MIDI player or … ???

Do any of you guys/gals know of either;

A) A pocket sized MIDI player that is 100% GM compatible where one can load MIDI files via PC or memory card (SD, CF, etc)?? Simple editing would be nice but not required.

B) Software that will run on the Pocket PC OS with a 100% GM Compatible software sound module. Editing would be cool but not necessarily a requirement.

Option “A” would be preferred because my Pocket PC eats through the battery bad enough just doing piddly daily tasks. The Energizer Bunny it ain’t!

In a nutshell, I want a MIDI playing iPod!

Anybody?

Thanks 7 o’ 11 but I specified POCKET SIZE. My pockets are not that BIG!

I ran across the same ones in my own web search… I appreciate the effort though!! :agree:

The iPod / iPhone APP store shows a few controllers and editors I think they are.
I didn’t see a midi player - would make a great iPod Touch - iPhone APP - get on it!

Here’s one that’s interesting. Jam.

Pocket Midi - I like that.
Talk to the Japs. :)

I’m looking over a few proggies for Pocket PC… I may DL a few and try them out. The more I think about it, if I could find software with some nice editing features… The Pocket PC may be the ticket. Hear a boo-boo? Fix da’ boo-boo!!

Check the link I posted above. It only has a few tunes but shows the promise of a mid player.
I just found a ProTools controller of all things, for ipod/iPhone Far Out Labs.

150 bux - incredible.

Hey D
Actually - I like where you are going.
It looks like maybe a (older) Pocket PC
might be the way to go.
And then check out the software available for it at:

Holy moly! Thanks 7 o' 11... some neat stuff to be found there!

Me thinks I'll monkey around with this a bit as soon as I can. There's a pretty nice editing suite for ~20 bux and a freeware polyphonic player... lot's o' goodies... :agree:

Awesome...

Aren’t there things coming out for the Nintendo DS thing? Not quite what you are looking for, but…

I had not thought of that option Tom... but you're right. I believe I seen an advert for some such doo-hickey. More investigation required. A DS battery runs for a looooonnnggg time.
