eJamming vs eSessions

ejamming with Windows apps

:D Here is an artist site that has and is developing their second verions of a windows based "live session meco".
They look promising with simular features to eSessons, industry
features.

Whoo forum isn’t working right! Guess you’ll have to copy and paste the link! Or try this one:

Looks like a contender also.

Does cable get the require upload/download? (no dsl here)

What’s with the BOLD type?

Yea cable should be good.
48 does seem to be a little much for this type of application.

You know after looking them over more I believe they are a little ahead of them selves.
It looks to me like eJam expects their clients to tolerate a surtan amount of latency while paying for a membership.
If I’m playing for a service like this there won’t be latency involved.

Their upgrade is behind schedual.
But if they do hit a home run with the new sotware version it will be huge for
them monitarily speeking.
I’ll watch them but I’m not jumpin into this one yet.

Looks like in a matter of a few months both sites and programs could change in a real positive way.
And it’s also possible that my DAW could change too

lol the preview is normal text, but it’s posted in bold. Someone is working on the forum script.

The bold text is because of some HTML code that somehow got inserted in the link to eJamming in post #1 of the thread. Everything below that on this page will be bold.

Maybe a moderator can edit it out…

I remember when the gang at AM was discussing the technicalities of eJamming, et al, about 3 years back.
I found these:

Hmm, as for these bold fonts, it’s definitely a bug in Ikon. It shouldn’t have to spread like this.

Great thx, it will be interesting to measure the development

Well it wasn't much talk, we were just wondering how it would work with (and around) internet latencies/bandwidths. I never looked at the ejamming site since that time. Perhaps I'll take a look at it, and esession and ninjam, etc, this weekend.

Looks like the bold fonts disappeared after this thread turned a new page.

Yep. The link Levi pasted to eJamming in the first thread was the culprit. Hover your mouse over it and look at the address it links to. Looks like a forum software copy/paste bug or something? Anywho, starting a "page" cleared it up. Weird...

D

Yea that’s what happened I clicked the http:// button to add the url (ejam dot com), pasted that, previewed it.
And it took me to the nTrack forum home page lol So I cleard that and pasted the url directly into the message area.
REAL
weird !

Well this is new news for ejamming.
They just licensed (12/2/08) their ejamming technoigy to MTV!
Not bad, that’s a good endorsement. Read More

On another note.
Anyone read or know anything about MUSIGY?!?
Things are already looking up!
Didn’t CNN just beam someone up into their stuido?
??????????????? :O
Musigy extrapolates! lol

Musigy extrapolates this way:
When the musigy software senses latency, it leaves a section of the signal empty and extrapolates, uses a piece of information from the previously transited signal to fill in the gap????
Somme thing to that effect.
If we are talking about an 8th note or so that would be ok.
It’s interesting.

I would love to beam Shania Twain up into my studio!

I thought Dubious would have mentioned this by now, but the folks at Reaper have had their NinJam up and working for a while now.

Ya I saw that too but wasn't at all turned on by one guy bing a while measure behind the other. As a reatime jam I mean. If they haven't updated that yet. Hope Flavio is looking into these. Pro tools imported vGlass via an Aux Stereo channel in. With nTrack's video viewer, he might have the ground work already laied. This is an application where flavios pre latency might come in handy.
But what the hl do I know about it?

As well as engineers.
These will be great tools for anyone with a studio and clientle.
Dm, the session players avilable at eSseions alone is a great tool for a studio.
I’m sure Bills probably paying attention.
Then when the technology catches up, we’ll have to deal with software matching issues.
