Failed To Open Direct Sound Input Device

Software issue???

Please forgive me but I have little experience posting in forums and I don’t always understand technical terminology.

Here goes I have n-track 6.1.2 and when I try to use the software, it says “ERROR-FAILED TO OPEN DIRECT SOUND INPUT DEVICE”. Is there something simple that needs to be switched on or checked that I can do so I can use the program?

That’s quite strange. What device do you have selected in the Settings -> Audio devices box?
Please try selecting the ‘Windows default audio device’ or “Wave mapper” entries for both audio recording and playback.
