they are sync’d but ntrack won’t play
I believe I have upgraded my Firepod to an FP10 and bought a real FP10 and each one works well with ntrack individually using the FP10 asio drivers. When I daisy chain them they sync up with two blue lights and in the FP10 control panel both are listed.
In ntrack I have the asio drivers selected and when adding a track I can arm the track with any of the 16 inputs visible.
But ntrack won’t play back and when I try to record it shows a big X in the wave form.
Any ideas?
Joseph
do you see it recording then the track is one huge x ?
This sounds like a directory/saving goof up. Like it can’t find the wav…
Is this the case? Have you recorded and THEN not seen or heard anything?
in SETTINGS/WAVEFORM DISPLAY make sure show wavform while recording is ticked - you will then be able to see if n is actually recording -

From the very outset as soon as I hit the record button, the X’s appear. When the firepods are one at a time it records fine. It also won’t play back any previously recorded material. It has to do with them hooked together.
I forgot to mention I am using Vista 64bit. I will keep working on it.
When you daisychain is one unit supposed to be the sync clock master/slave? Is that a selection in the software?
Looking at the Presonus site the version 2.46 driver (I think) said required firmware update?
I’m sure there’s a setting in nTrack we’re missing here, check the clock on asio settings, midi settings use system or wave, try checking wave.
Maybe phoo can come in and enlighten us.
Just to double check, audio devices, advanced, you have all the inputs selected on playback and record?
Crap can’t edit nuttin here.
Reading on the presonus, your record/playback with 2 or more units is limited to 24bit/44.1k or 24bit/48k.
Are you using different settings from these?
Can you un-daisy-chain and get each one to work seperately (one at a time). Or does this happen with any audio interface? Do you have an onbaoard interface on your motherboard that you could try with ASIO4ALL to see if N still X’s out your record attempts?
Somebody will spank me for suggesting this…
Download another program and determine if this is an n-Track thing or a Presonus driver thing. Several guys on the Reaper forum run FP10’s daisy chained together so my guess is it’s an n-Track thing. shrug
If you determine it is indeed an n-Track thing, file a bug report.

Check to see if you have the latest drivers and if Presonus has anything posted on theit board about the problem. I think the problem you are having is not unique.
It would probably be a good idea to check to see if the units work properly with another program. If my experience is any guide, you will probably still have an problem.
Contact Presonus by phone, their tech prople are really nice and helpful. Unfortunately, their hardware drivers are not so great. Make certain you have the latest driver installed and tested before you call, that will be their first question. If the latest driver does not correct the problem, perhaps their tech people can help. Another hint: emails to Presonus tech can take a long time if you have not contacted them by phone first.
Good luck. I love my Digimax 96, but I had to return the 26X26 because of driver issues.

Presonus didn’t answer the phone on Friday. I think they are closed till after Easter. The units work individually, just not together. I believe there is a piece of firmware you have to request from Presonus. Will try to talk to them on Monday. My setting are 24/44.1. I have tried both the Asio and the wmd. Using ntrack 6.0.3 2461 66 bit. Tied the 32 bit as well. I think it is a presonus thing.
Just taking a break from jamming tonight and was hoping to record. Missing some good stuff. But there will be other nights.
Thanks all.
The firmware according to their site is in the driver up-dates, it’s updated thru the install procedure I think, you have to go by their installation procedure to the letter tho.
Plus the install info wasn’t complete that I viewed, some parts was missing in their PDF file.
