I’ve complained before about the limitations of MIDI but because of my even more limited musical ability I am often forced to use MIDI to try and express my ideas. Here’s a new song that I wrote inspired by my wife.
Forever And A Day
The drums are samples and the vocal is, obviously, a recorded .wav everything else is MIDI but I did something different. Instead of rendering the MIDI files to .wav through the sound card I “played” them through my Toneport and captured the .wav files that way, using whichever of the various presets on the Toneport that I thought appropriate.
It isn’t a substitute for real musicians but I think it improved the crappy MIDI sound substantially.
