free side chain compressor

this is a cool one, density mkII first free one I’ve gotten to work for me.

to get it to work there is a switch labeled SC, switch it to external.

I figured we can start a list.

Nicely, NR. Good idea.

I wonder what I do wrong. I send the trigger signal (sidecahin) from track 1 into track 2 where I’ve placed the compressor (the above mentioned one).

The track one triggers the compressor in track to but mutes itself.

And actually, now when I try it N-track shots down. Bugger!

Edit: But I won’t crash if the playback is on when I turn the sidechain on.

There was a bug in side chaining - fixed in latest build - are you using the new build?

Varakeef,

build 2519 fixes a crash that occurred sporadically when sending a track to a plugin's sidechain when not in playback, which is likely to be the same problem you had. Please let me know if you still see the crash in the new build.

A track will mute when you send it to a plugin sidechain if you send it from the track's main output. To send without muting you can create a new "send" (click on the track output label and select "Add new send" from the popup menu) which works as an alternate output.

Flavio.
:agree: for 2519, solved all the weird crashes I was having.

here are the two from the other thread

SideChCompSt

Thanks, Flavio!

Update fixed the crash indeed, and the instructions to make a new send made it work.
