General ignorance

settings

1. Is there anything I should do to my system settings to create an optimal environment. I have Xp pro s2 and the box is fully dedicated to ntrack. There is no other app using the machine.

2. Is it better to send the signal in low and boost it from the soundcard or the reverse or should I just play around with the settings. I have a M- something or other card new delta series. THere are 2 L/R(4 in all) audio ins and the card comes with a fancy volume control with monitor or HW 1/2(??) In and outs. I have to study it this week but if anyone has advice on it I’de be very appreciative.

Thanks ( sorry for any spelling Foh Paws).

Hi, welcome to the fun,

Just quickly…

And, in general it’s best to record as hot as you can without clipping but you need to take heed of this all the way through your input chain.
