This thread is a tough one.
I had a Pre-CDB Fender Precision bass that I sold for $150 in the 70’s. I also had a '72 Les Paul Deluxe that I sold for $250. Both of these instruments would be worth a mint today.
I also had an old Supro bass amp (15" speaker) that I think may be one of those valuable amp’s now.
I also owned a '72 Martin D-28 which I actually wished I had kept now but that guitar wasn’t very good. It was made during the peroid when Martin went from making 2,000 to 20,000 guitars.
In high school, I had one of thoese Kustom 3-15" speaker bass amp’s. I can’t remember how much I sold that for but I wonder if anyone still uses those today other than John Fogerty?!?!
Never had any quality gear (apart from nTrack OF COURSE)…but always fancied a rickenbacker simply for the Lennon factor.
I’ve been waiting for the amp model I had when I first started playing to show up on Ebay, and here it is - only 800 USA dollars:

Someone loan me some money and never ask for it back, please?
Hey, Tom…most of these were recorded using that amp model.

Oh, man, that is the sound.
What were those recording done on? (and when?)
I listened to Hound Dog and Drinking Wine Spodeode (or however it’s spelled).
Tascam 80-8, about 1986. They were mixed to Sony HiFi Stereo VHS. (needs a bit better mastering)
The cleaner guitars, and the ones with tremolo, were with a Fender amp. The guitar was mostly a really old blond Moserite with heavy as heck strings, but there’s an old Goldtop in there, too.
All the really cranked up dirty stuff is the Gibson amp, and it’s all natural.
Tape sounds nice.
