What a story that's coming outta your part of the country..
I was watching some of the replies to the MSNBC Internet news-cast..
Somebody said that was the 14.6 trillion dollar cheque bouncing..
There's a few funny guys in-and-around the Internet..
There were reports coming out of Fredricton New Brunswick regarding the "Shaking Ground"..
I have friends over there..
However, I didn't get any mail from them saying they felt it..

Gentlemen..
What's Next ????

(
Shaking head in Wonderment
)..

I have friends who live in Eastern PA, as well..
I must get in touch with them to see just what they felt..
They live in-and-near Pottsville..
Coal mining country..
I think the coal is produced from Open Pit Mining..
Nothing underground, anymore..

*********************************

The only thing we feel over here in Bluenose Land is the Government raising our taxes..
and Taking us to the Cleaners..

:)

*****************************

As if we're not clean enough..
Irene is on it's way up the shore..
BIG BLOW, on-it's Way..

I can tell you one thing, though..
I got a Government rebate cheque in the letterbox yesterday..
I paid in too much tax money and they felt sorry for me..
Gave me some of it back..
:agree:
???
I had to call to see if it was for real..
Yea never know in these times..

I think that's all the ground that was shaking, over here..

Bill..

good for you Bill,

I guess the check really was in the mail! :agree:

I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky…tumblin’ down.

I heard that was the worst since the 1800’s…don’t know how true it is and…

dontare

Looks like they are forecasting Irene to take more of an inland course…
If that is the case that action will take some of the starch outta the Big Blow… If that’s the way she blows it’ll just be another wet day for us this summer…
:p
:disagree:
I guess we’ll have to wait-and-see…
They’re giving this storm top billing…
No body’s taking it lightly…

That was still quite a Quake for those people to endure…

Bill…

Yea…
I need another cheque…
This one to pay my utility bills…
and get a fibre optic line into the studio and…
and…
and…
hehe…

looks like a lot or rain and some wind for me…

everyone’s panicking around here…I’m cool as a cucumber.

Hi Jerm:

We are still waiting to see how this one plays out, for us folk…
If Irene gets into the hills and valleys of Eastern PA and up over Connecut that’ll just about do it…
However, it’s gonna bring a lot of tropical air along with it…
The air is so humid over here…
It’s like constant rain with the sun shining…
It’s like the kind of night air you get in Florida… The temperature doesn’t fall off at night…
3 am in the mornings and it’s still 22c outside…
It’d be nice if it fell to 10-12c at night… I’d like to be able to save this stuff for the middle of January…

Anyway, we’ll can only wait-and-see…

Bill…

I feel for ya Bill,

I am not a big fan of humidity to me it makes ordinary situations extraordinary and not in a good way. :disagree:

The shops-and-malls are doing great trade this morning… Everybody is picking things up for the impending weather…

We’ll never forget Juan back in 2005 - 2006 < ?
It came ashore right over us…
I looked into the EYE as it passed over us… Beautiful night sky filled with stars…
Many of us were so fortunate, to escape with little-or-no damage…

I believe (it’s path) it’s going somewhat west (by a few hundred miles) of where I am… ( I’m midway along the NS shore)
Over along the Fundy Shore, everybody is bracing for the worst…
The fruit growers could suffer losses…
Apple Pare and Grape growers could have it bad…

For us…
I think we are gonna just have a wet start to the week…
Then, it’s back to work…
:disagree:
:)
:disagree:
Do I really wantta go back to work ????
hehe

It’s better to be Safe-than-Sorry…

We’ll see…
???

Bill…

Where are you relitive to the Scranton/Wilks Barrie Area ?

I’m about 1hr 1/2 south of Scranton. 100 miles or so as the crow flies.

I took my one air conditioner in the studio in, it’s rather large and tilts outward so I don’t want to take any chances.

We all held our breath and waited for the weather to take hold this afternoon… We got a good band of rain about mid afternoon… It lasted maybe a hour… than around supper-time I looked out to see the tree tops swaying a bit… No loss of power… Normally, after some weather we get a wind change, or, the winds comes around and it cools off… BUT this time the wind hasn’t come around… The street is dry, not wet, but the humidity is still 99%… Brutal weather and it’s still 21c at 11pm… I find it strange that this storm took so long to come up the Jersey Shore and turn inland… There appeared as though there was little-if-any forward movement to the Big Blow during the time it took to come up the shore… It must have been awful for those people along that area of the coast…

Bill…

yes a lot of flooding in NJ and some of my friends over their still have no power (Highland/Redbank area).

there is a lot of cool air behind this thing Bill, and brisk dry air too, so hopefully it makes it way up to ya by this afternoon/night! :agree:

I’m all over summer…

This Humid air that has a grip on us just has to go…
I don’t care where… Just go…
It’s 25.8 in the house and it’s 26.8 outside, in bright sunlight… At my age…
We’re not equipped for that kind of weather, over here…
The wind is slowly coming around to give us dryer air… But it’s happening way too slow for my liking…

Those people on the Virginia and Jersey Shores got a real beating from this Big Blow…

Is there such thing as The Global Cooling Effect ????
Somebody get busy and invent it…
:)

Bill…

The south western end of the province got it pretty bad…
Lots of rain and pretty breezy…
Most of them was without power…
Everybody survived, I think…
I was gonna post you all a link to Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse Camera…
However, it’s Off Line…
No Worky…

global warming will result in cooling of your area Bill as ocean currents will change.

if scientist and politicians are right you might just get what you want out of this.

Bill..

that is, global climate change is leading to severe droughts in Texas, and something here was said about climate change giving us what we wanted anyway.

yea, we really don’t need a desert in the center of the US, even if it means better weather for you Bill!
