I'm On Top Of The World

New tune here:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands…6570965

The instrumental bit may need changing…I literally picked up said instrument and boshed together 4 (or is it 8?) bars of nonsense. Can’t even play the damned thing…If the feedback is damning I’ll ask one of you guys or gals to pop in an a few bars if you don’t mind!!

I won’t be entering this I don’t think. I just needed to get the chorus out of my head.

Comments anyone?

Perhaps one day I’ll learn to write a middle 8…

Love the major 3 in the chorus.
Always works.
:)

And that is exactly how “an harmonicum” is supposed to be played.

But I personally can’t stand all the optimism! Get bummed, man!

:p

Ha!
Cheers Tom.
Just thought I’d put something down a bit different to the ‘woe is me’ I usually write.

Not sure I agree about the harmonica tho… :;):

Sussed it…
On the last bar of harmonica there’s a minor note which should be a major.

MUST get that changed.

Eyup, Craig!! Even when you think you’re bad, you’re good. Quite humbling for us mere mortals.
Very nice song, not surprised you wanted to get the chorus down, it’s excellent. Not a big fan of the harmonica in the song, but I can see why you used it, it keeps the song nice and light in texture. I wouldn’t worry too much about the harmonica playing, it never seemed to bother Bob Dylan.

Al Sithee,
Ian

I love this, cute n catchy, tight harmonies and i love the chorus, (made me feel happy :;): )

I’m sorry tho hun personally i think you should loose the harmonica all together (nice guitar lead or summint maybe ??? Oo! oo! oo! no i know … a sax :) ) is only my opinion tho.
ruddy brilliant (as always) :agree:
Ange x

You are right.
It’s gone.
Razzed off an uninspiring solo, but I’ve struggled with the instrumental bit on this. If that doesn’t fit…anyone want to record a part? :)

Sax would be great!!!..not sure if my budget would stretch tho… :;):

Cheers for comments all.

Really fine Craig - you’re gettin this thing down son. Great morning tune…
Thanks for posting - I like it for the contest - but it’s up to you.
I listened to this as a regular guy - so no critique. You’re one of the few I get that from - so I’m going to enjoy it.
:agree:

Thanks Tommy.
I always await your comments with baited breath. You do realise you’re my self appointed mentor now don’t you?

Very, very GOOD! I listened on the desktop speakers rather than the nearfields, but hey this IS an mp3… I can’t think of thing to suggest except maybe bump the bass guitar up a few dB or tweak the EQ a tad to give it a little more ‘presence’ in the mix.

Excellent song. I’ll be disappointed if I don’t get a chance to vote on this one in the recording contest…

D

Wow D…thanks!

I might bang it it then.

What’s it pay?

I have free time comin’ me time comin’
Been so long been so long

I’m honored Craig - you are one talented lil’ pup!

I have to tell ya, when I first saw the title of the song, I was thinking it was a cover of a Carpenters tune!. he he he!

Anyway its groovy, peppy and a bit funky. I like your vocals. I take it you have a drum set? I have my cans on (and it’s 2:30am) and the skidding sound at 0:47 startled me big time! Cool tune! :agree:

Cheers Jimothy!

No drum kit, just good old nTrack drums. It’s nice to hear they sound quite realistic, as I’ve played around that much with them I can’t tell now…
