That looks sweet, Craig. I nearly did one last weekend on a
£100 Danelectro - ended up leaving the shop with a
£35, old, and crap Uke. T’is an illness:-)

Did you get a sticker for being a brave lad?

…no sticker but I got two days off work. I was spaced out after having IV sedation (I’m extremely phobic)…

The missus has gone mad over the spend

 Game on. What will she treat herself to?
She's already looking at a new bedroom!!! How did you know?!!!!

You think You chose to get the guitar?

What would you get if you got dentures? Just asking…

Hey I’ve got a Washburn semi like that. Diff model I think but about the same price, 'cept it’s the fake “distressed” version. It’s a really, really, really, versatile and great guitar. Enjoy!

....also I needed something to prompt me to learn to play properly!....

Tom...dentures would mean a Rickenbacker or a Gretsch.
When I (ahem...the missus) decided to get a guitar I was looking at a 'Rockingbetter' Rick copy by Tokai:

But I've only read bad reviews...so I went for a good old workhorse instead.

Couldn’t you almost get a used Ric for the price of the new copy?

Not even almost!
Cheapest used Rickenbacker I’ve seen is around the
£1000 mark ($1600)…

Yeah, and don't try to sell a fake Ricky on ebay by using the word "Rickenbacker" in the title or description.

Had my listing removed several times :-( I even tried saying "I'm not sure what make this guitar is but it clearly isn't a Rickenbacker from the build quality and sound".

Next time I was gonna try "Rickenbacker guitar strap with matching guitar".....

Wow, I bought my rics a few years ago and I just checked prices – they shot waaaay up.

Subject: Give this a listen

This from an old friend who, through, correspondence with others all over the world, edits and mixes homegrown music into professional works that rival anything from the big companies.
This song has a familiar “Beatle” feel to it with good melody and harmonies,to boot.
