I scored, again

I hope

Hi Gents:

I have been watching the local Buy/Sell Kijiji pages…
I found this Tube Caddy and I had to have a look at it…
The guy wanted 150.00, but I had to barter… :)

After seeing what was in the caddy I couldn’t pass up the deal

What’s the saying ???? A fool-and-his-money ????

The caddy needs to be restored… :)

Bill…

So, what’s all the pretty stuff in there? ???

Whoa, looks fantastic. GOt any EL84’s?

Nice haul. 34’s for me, Bill.

Back Again:

The guy that owned this caddy is in the Military…
He is stationed here at what is known as a Search-and-Rescue Base…
It’s Shearwater, the remains of a Second World War Naval Air Base…
It’s a Staging Base now for new recruits to train before they are shipped off to the Middle East and Parts unknown…
Anyway, this guy is an Electronics Maintenance guy…
However, tubes is at the end of use, for the Military…
BUT, I’ll bet (where he works) he knows all the benches that has tube stashes…
In the days of the Due-Line,<???? (the '60’s and '70’s) in the Artic, tubes were in…
At first look, there doesn’t appear to be much/many EL Series (84’s-and-34’s) (European) stuff in there…
There are some 6L6/6V6 and Preamps and Drivers for those types…
I’d say it was a tube caddy for a guy who worked around Radar-and-CRT Equipment…
????

I still couldn’t walk away from the Box…
