i thought it was February

Sorry - I’m still a little confused
Is the running sequence:
Pattern A page1, Pattern A page2 (if there is a page 2 pattern) thru Pattern A page8
then Pattern B page1?
For instance if I have different patterns for A, pages 1 thru 8, and I trigger
pattern A with a C3 midi note, is that going to play all of the patterns in pages
1 thru 8 sequentially?
That would be great, cus then you can repeat 32 bars (8 pages x 4 bars) bars with just one note.

first - make sure the little FOLLOW box is RED - if not click on it - now you can see all the pages as they are played - this goes off at odd times so keep your eye on it -

insert blank MIDI track -
set channel (in properties box) to 16 - you do not have to alter the MIDI channel on your keyboard -
select RECORD FROM - your keyboard -
output track to NTD -
select LIVE -

the pattern A trigger note is two octaves below middle C - each note upwards switchs in a new pattern -

in NTD preferences you can select between switch patterns instantly (switch part way through a pattern) OR LIVE MODE where patterns play all the way through before changing - look in MENU / preferences -

The video says 24 midi notes for 24 patterns C3-B4
That is what works for me.

And yes - I did confirm that all occupied pages of a pattern are
are played sequentially.

So if you have pages 1-4 of pattern 'A' with midi note data, then
all pages will be played by controller note c3 on channel 16 until
a new pattern is seclected with controller notes c#3 thru b4 (24 patterns tota)

I have been reading this thread - I have collected the information into a text file and I will give it a try.
However, it sure would be helful if someone who had created some patterns were to make them available. I am not a drummer and it would be helpful to have a “fast start” file of some familiar styles and/or songs to load and tryout. Or is this another one of the things I have overlooked?
Bax

I could post a simple midi file for you bax - but other than that I’m staying out of this thread - there’s a reason I use EZdrummer.

The thing to remember is that NTD is not playing a midi file of drum instruments like
EZ. It reads a control track whose output channel must be 16.
And that the midi notes of the control track trigger the patterns you have
created in the NTD step editor.
It would be like controlling ‘clips’ of EZ by triggering the ‘clip’ with a
single midi input note.
Which is cool because instead of copying clips all over the place, you
just turn on the one you want whereever you want it in the song.

The midi control track is made up a series of notes that turn on the patterns -
or ‘clips’

C3
-
pattern A - which is 16 notes of polyphonic data per page or 1 measure (X 8)

pages for a possible total of 8 measures per pattern

(Or think of it as clip that has an adjustable length of 1 to 8

measures)

C#3 -
pattern B
D3
-
pattern C
.
.
C4
-
pattern M
.
.
B4
-
pattern X
(total 24)

BTW - This is just my view of the operation and what works for me.

I appreciate y’all making it clear about nDrummers limitations for playing chained patterns.
It really should go pg1 patterns a to z.
with the step set for anything on a any pattern.
Then pg2 patterns a to z and so on.
I know that wouldn’t exactly reflect a score but mechanically it would seem right. And just autiomatically do that.

But now that I know the sequences to expect I’ll just build what I need and export to wav
like I originally have been doing.
I don’t see a need for me to trigger anything like that.
It’s nice to have if I need it.
Oh by the way magic,
what are the chances of when I add that trigger track that in a weeks time I would have a dozen more little tracks, and in another week 2dozen more little midie tracks and so on?
 It must be buzzin at your place good man!
