Hi-jack?
More like lo-jack!
S’ok, I’m enjoying your comments more than the other stuff.
In that case - no cracklins in the house. Had to settle for a baloney/cheese/mustard/onion/dillpickle/potatochip sandwich.
Seems to be more 'space' in it than your usual stuff Tom.
Again we have some 'whispers' at about 2.30...what are you saying??
I like it.
Sound quality sounds good to me...but I can't tell the difference between mp3 and .wav
Great song. Better than most of what I remember on the radio at that time.
Love the into.
In regards to the southern cuisine section of the thread: Add sweet tea and fried okra, and a chess pie for dessert, and I’ll be right there.
(I haven’t had cracklins in close to 30 years!)
Oh, and there absolutely must be ripe homegrown tomatoes. (Frying them when they’re still green is a waste of good maters.)

Oh man... I can't wait for summer...
When I was a kid, we'd snatch them big ripe maters right off the vine and eat 'em like apples... Sevin dust and all. (That may explain a few things...)

Don't you just KNOW IT?
Hey Tom? UPS me that Carr for a few weeks wouldja? I'll send it back... I promise... maybe... Okay! FORGET IT! If I got my hands on it, you'd NEVER SEE IT AGAIN!

Uh…no. You’d hate it. It’s purple.
Don’t worry, I’d cover all the purple with Reaper stickers. Wouldn’t bother me a bit then… Of course you’d probably be pissed IF you git it back!
Seriously, something that sounds that good… I don’t care if it’s hot-pink with yellow and green polka dots. The color ain’t nuttin’…

Ya know, I don’t really remember 1984, uh and don’t remember ever owning a Purple Amp!
Is this the Purple?
Is this the Purple?
If you ask ME, yes.
If you ask my wife, NO!
D - wears one blue and one black sock alla time...
Only purple amps I remember were tuck and roll Kustoms.
Kustom…that brought back memories. Unfortunately, searching didn’t turn up much yet. I’m looking for some pretty specific stuff about the early days of the creators of Kustom and Woodson amps/cabinets, not Vintage Amp info.
Specifically, I was trying to find something about Mike Woodson himself. He and his brother-in-law (I think…could have been a friend - brother - relative - business partner) started Kustom, and got the company going in Kansas. Mike opened a music store in Havelock, NC in the late 60’s. It was originally called Kustom Music, but later changed to Woodson Music.
I met Mike WAY back then, and bought my first “big” PA from him. It was a Kustom 100 PA head with two columns that had 4-12" in each. That proved to be not quite big enough so I traded it in on a huge Woodson system. It had a 16 channel mixer, and 8 powered cabinets, each with 2-15" and a metal horn. That was actually pretty good for the time.
Anyway, yes, that was Mike Woodson of Woodson amp fame.
I think he eventually moved back to Kansas and dabbled with some other amps (Earth??).
This is sad, but later (and still years ago) I believe he may have been murdered. I know nothing of the specifics, and don’t know for a fact if that really happened. I hope not.
Regardless, Kustom was big thing way back, and sure are collectors items these day.
I found one link mentioning a little nothing about the old music store.

Look at all that. Purty ain’t it!
Kustom was originally started in a factory in Chanute, Kansas by its founder Bud Ross. No mention of Mike anyone, anywhere.
Don't worry, I'd cover all the purple with Reaper stickers.
See? It works!!

DANG!! My memory is going. YEAH…Bob Ross. They made Kasino Amps as well. My post Kustom PA was Kasino, not Woodson. Woodson amps came along a little later (and weren’t nearly as good, but the amps were the same). It’s been a while you know.

(there’s a mention of Woodson on here - still can’t find anything about Mike Woodson though)
