Manual not correct about sync problem fi
Hello,
I have just downloaded the Ntrack demo and am having difficulty with one thing. When recording two separate live tracks, one at a time. the play back is ever so slightly out of sync. I understand why this happens. The problem I am having relates to what you user manual says to do about it.
It says to go to Preferences/Wave devices/Advanced, However, when I go to Preferences, there is no tab or option called Wave Device. There are tabs for Recording setting, Options, Appearance, Midi and Paths.
How do I get to the above mentioned Wave Devices?
thanks
Try “Settings - Audio Devices” - Choose a record and playback device and make sure they match. Depending on what you have installed - you should get them sync’d up.
That’s my guess not knowing anymore than you posted.
“Wave devices” must be old language from previous versions.
this is near the end of the manual
If you experience sync problems try unchecking both the Preferences/Options/Use system timer for checkboxes, then set the Preferences/Recording settings/Hide lag indicator… parameter to 1.
Hope that helps.
I had a similar problem when I switch to a new computer with new soundcard. My N-Track sampling frequency was 44.1kHZ but there wasn’t an option for that frequency on my soundcard, just 48kHZ or 96kHZ. So I set my n-track to 48kHZ, set my soundcard to 48kHZ and it syncronised again.
Pissed me off at the time but I then wrote a song called sync based on this experience. Should post it here sometime…
