Marching Home-Finished

With thanks

Hopefully this is the finished version of the song (or as finished as I’m going to get it) :)

Thanks very much due to fellow n-Trackers:

Female vocal: The lovely Ange
Warriors Chorus: Poppa, Beefy Steve, Kev Myers, Yaz
Inspiration and guidance: Poppa and Beefy.

Marching Home

:agree: that's sooo cool :D

Ange x

great job Bruffie - I like it a bunch! Can you fill me in on the outro stringed instrument? What is it? Sounds like a gut stringed at times then I’m not so sure. The melody line sounds autoharpy almost. The strummed/plucked rhythm is nice too. What are they?

Sounds great!

Eyup!

I think Big Aggie would approve mate :agree:

Steve

Ian…

REALLY sorry I didn’t manage to get the time to give you something here mate.

Sounds GREAT. Nice big sound there. :agree: :)

Maybe next time you’ll ask again!

Man I wish I got in on the act now…
I’m SUCH an arse.

I need someone to manage my time for me…

Well done!

Hey Craig.....

Chill out man, no big deal. At the end of the day, I only make music for fun. I share it with a few family and friends and get a kick out of the end result, that way I'm never under pressure! (except when I'm collaborating :) )
The idea of getting a few of the n-Trackers in the chorus was just to involve a few of the good people here for fun. So, don't beat yourself up mate. The song's done. I can look back one day and say " That was a blast to do" And I got a half decent result I think. (mixing 5 different voices with different phrasing for the chorus was tricky enough :) )
Ange was great as usual.
Take Care Mate! Keep the songs coming!
Ian

CRAIG WILL YOU QUIT BEING SUCH AN ARSE!

Good one Sir Ian of Bruffie! (yes that’s right, Knighthood hath been bestowed upon the young lad! :agree: )

But there’s a side bet between Poppa and myself as to who’s vocal sucked the worse, his or mine. Now we need a confirmation Sir Ian that mine did so I can win the $10! :)

Bruffie can make the right call - mine was the worst.

Only if Yaz offers me $5 out of the winnings

Sorry Poppa. I just saw this. Well...You could do the outro with your set-up Tommy :) The outro lead line is played on a an acoustic guitar high up the neck passed through a Line 6 processor. The rhythm part is a soft clavichord patch on a Korg synth.

Mando would have been nice :) :)

Hey Bruffie,
I was going to add a vocal until I saw the 12 noon deadline.
I was to busy to get it for you by that time, sorry.
But after hearing the finished product, my part would have made no difference.
Oh and by the way, now that I’ve gotten used to the song, Ange was right!
Your voice works!

Cheers Levi,

I think, more to the point, me trying to fake the gruuff vocals didn't work :)

No it works, sounds pretty cool.
You took on more of a Bon Scott type sound.
Unique and interesting sounding.
Much better than plain vanilla!

I was in a Private Eye Store buying some pepper spray for one of my big'rig adventures and (I'm at best 6' on my tip'toes) this skinny little guy about 5'3 or 4", wearing a suit like a lawyer started asking about a knight stick, using this gruff commanding voice.
The amazing point is this didn't seem at all out of character for him.

Voices change, it's what ever you want.

Here is what happened to me.
Being on a CB for 3 yrs made my voice gruff.
A metamorphosis's takes place when you talk on one of those things over a period of time.
Usually more Experienced seasoned truckers dominate CB chatter and they belly up to the mic with as big a presents as possible. (its a jungle out there!)
So naturally after a while you become a little like that yourself.
Kind of like imitating your parents. So if you start talking that way it won't be long before it feels natural.
I say work on it, you can be what ever you want.
Thinking you've got a bunch of potential with that voice!

It's hard to bring attention to a song.

I’m way too old for potential Levi. Just love singing (and I’m 5’5" on my Tip’toes  )

 Right, it's cool like it is Bruffie.
Well to make my potential point have more meaning. I think I also have potential to write and record some songs that could in some way make me a little money.
Next week, next month, next yr, 5 yrs from now, when ever.
It will still be nice.
I like the gruffie Bruffie!
