MIDI TOOLS

Hi Gents:

This Roland that got installed into the Legend Guitar was pretty compact…
Placement of the controller pickup was an art-in-science in itself…
to make playing the strings and respond to the player’s action in some meaningful music flow…

If I remember correctly, the Roland on-board electrics had 6 individual analogue amplifiers that has six miniature controls to adjust their levels separately before the signals get “Digitized”…
is that a good word… ????
Then as Doc J says…
the signal gets outputted to this multi-pin cable and “OFF” from the guitar to this Roland “BOX” on the floor then re-directed to a Guitar amp AND/OR to some other MIDI accessories-or-whatever…

BOY…
Tell me all about IT…
( I shake my head…
It’s Not
Up-and-Down )…

Anything I hate is…
Something I don’t Understand…

:p

Anyway, when we finally got this guitar wired and up-and-running…
We looked around at each-other with unspoken gratitude…
We all took a deep breath…

I believe, that this Roland MIDI Unit was an early design of the Day
accessory/add-on and not designed as a built-in the guitar model as of present-day designs…
Who knows…
????

Anyway, there were many questions as to how the LIVE/ON-STAGE Guitar player would utilize all this Electronic Managery…

After all this questions began to surface…

The first question I brought up was…
Could the player have a choice as to selection of the signals from the Roland electrics?

It appeared NO…
There was a selectable Three-way Switch
that only allowed one signal at-a-time…

It seemed to me that I remember another external switch was added to the body of the guitar that allowed more than a single signal to be outputted from the Roland on-board electrics…
other than the external outboard Floor Box…
Remember, this design was back in the '99 - '01 years…
I don’t know what is available in MIDI Electrics today…
Everyone was in agreement that this modification was a good idea for the Guitar’s Wiring…
It wasn’t available as standard wiring before the modification…

I believe that a left-handed guitar was the first MIDI Guitar that I wired…

Zane was a Leftie…
Lefties has everything going against them in the Music World…
A true Leftie Guitar has to have all the controls

Wired Backwards
