Missing MID files

invisible or something

Hey all,

This is kind of weird…

Using 3.3, (I save all tracks in their respective folders using the song title as the folder name,)

I open a sng file
ALL tracks are there including 4 MID tracks
I close NTrack

Using Win Explorer
I go to the song folder
ONLY WAV files – no MID

so…

I open a sng file
ALL tracks are there including 4 MID tracks
I close NTrack

and on it goes…

I want to copy and send some midi tracks to someone, but they are nowhere to be found. Explorer is set to show hidden files.
Any idea on where the MID files go to?
In the past I have had MID files show up in each folder.
I just tried out v5.x and this problem started.
Didn’t save this particular sng using v5.0…it is a 3.3 song.

Now, when I did a *.mid search on the drive holding all of my song masters, I find only a few midi files. Yet, when I open the .sng, all tracks are present.

What it boils down to: I seem to be missing .mid files but not mid tracks.

As usual, thanx in advance.

The MIDI tracks are included as part sng file. To have them as separate mid files they must be exported, but those exported files still aren’t used in the song unless imported back into the song. Then they become part of the sng file again. It’s always been that way.

Thanks Phoo…

If I export them and send copies to whoever, will the tracks be back in the same place as they were when I import them back into the song?

They should be. MIDI events are all relatively placed from the start.
