Moves original track
If we copy a part of a track and paste it into a new track, dragging the part in the new track moves the original track correspondingly.
Is this the expected behaviour?
Anchoring the original track allows movement of the part in the new track to the right but you cannot then move it to the left again (other than by undoing) Weird.
with the part grouping, copied parts are automatically grouped with the original. right clicking and then selecting ungroup parts will let you drag them independently.
Once you ungroup the track you may stiull want to move a track to the left sometime.
You cannot move a track left past the left end bar. There must be space created at the left in shich to move the track
You can drag the entire track to the left or shorten the data on the track:
To move left the track can be shortened: there is a small box just below the center line of the end marker .
Place the cursor there ant the cursor changes to a hand -
drag the file to the left to create space to move the track to the left.

Thanks for the replies. When I try this tonight on the same track in the same song, moving the copied part doesn’t move the original! But I’m hoping, if it did, I’d see the context menu item (ungroup parts). Is there some overall setting which controls this?
Cheers

Martin, the right click pop’up is the main control for grouping and ungrouping.
Thinking the grouping is automatic when you copy and past. This is a new habit to develop for ntrackers.
Immediately clicking on the part of interest (after pasting), right clicking to check or uncheck, then if ungrouping; clicking on a diffrent track to complete the ungrouping process.
Then reclicking on the part that you want to move, to highlight it.
Sometimes you can just click the part of interest, then click outside the track then back on your part of interest.
It’s a fairly new feature.
I must be missing something here. I’ve played about with this and never seen any group/ungroup option on a menu when right clicking on a track. Also, every time I copy now the new part moves about happily and independently of the original part. Oh well…
