Wish future versions of N could be able to deal with MP3 files
Hi jazo:
N-Track already recognizes mp3 and .ogg .wma files…
You have to check to make sure that these codecs are installed into n-Track…
Then when you open one of these files and import it into the time line n-Track converts these files to WAV Files On-the-Fly…
so to speak and you press play and all is heard…
I stand corrected on this but you can also import these files in any combination into the time line…
I believe that Broadcast Wave files are recognized by n-Track…
However, I’m not sure if n-Track will rewrite the code structure so the tracks can be exchanged and transported back to the system they were originally written in/on…
You need to make sure you install the Lame codec the wma codec and the ogg codecs into the Program/n-Track version/folder/files…
As much as I know…
some of the n-Track users don’t install these files with-in n-Track…
They choose to convert their projects on other audio utilities…
By choosing not to install these codecs they loose these features that n-Track is able to handle by default…
Bill…
From what version of N is this possible? I still use version 3.2, never liked the newer ones
I started out on V3.3 and best I remember, it did handle mp3’s if you had the “Blade” codec installed. I’m not sure which codec is in use now? It’s pretty much agreed that V3.3 Build 1516 was one of the best versions ever. Why not try it and see if you can locate the proper codec if it is not installed by n-Track?

Hi, I use n-track 2.0 because it works well for me. I recently used reaper as a quick way of converting an MP3 to WAV, just load up the MP3 then “render” out to WAV.
