Mr President

Just got to say - President Barack Obama is very very impressive.
His inauguration speech was superb. I think this man is
destined for greatness. And I’m glad he’s our President.
He’s good for this country, and he’s gonna be good for
the world.

I do hope you are right sir.

Did you notice the DOW bombed over 300 pts today? Oy…

D

I personally place non of my faith or hope in any man. Just a personal philosophy I’ve grown into over the years. But I do pray our president will be blessed.

I got busy and didn’t get to hear the speech. I’m sure the highlights will rock though!

Yeh - I was watching CNBC -
But the main thing is if the Team can instill confidence in the market again.
I believe they can if they weed out the troublemakers - probably thru
aquisitions. That's the only legal way it can be done.
And I'm thinking in 4-5 months you'll start seeing some steady gains rather
than this see-saw activity that's going on now.

The thing that gets me about all this is besides the credit/housing/stock bust, we now have this media inspired “recession of fear” going on. If these morons had handled this emergency a bit differently, it wouldn’t be quite as bad and would not last nearly as long IMO.

D

Normally CNN would be ‘THE WORLD DEPRESSION’ (with the bass drum) and a
very sober looking Wolf Blitzer explaining how the patient is going to die.
but since they’d be tanking their own stocks we don’t see that - thank god

Yeah... you're right. It COULD be worse...

No faith in the man? gotta have faith to some extent - it is impossible to institutionalize virtue - although our system comes close.

let’s hear it for the system - it has had a great day too.

Nope. Poppa's got it right IMO. Man WILL let you down.

From a UK perspective, this guy epitomizes everything American ie. the American Dream.

Great role model from the tiny bit I know…and that can never be a bad thing. Hope. Dreams.

It’s different here. There ain’t no ‘English Dream’.

I’ve noticed whenever I speak to anyone American the conversation usually ends with something like ‘make it a GREAT day’. Man, there’s nothing like that here. Every man for himself.

…but what do I know?..I’ve had a garbage day so felt justified in having a little drink… :p

Can I come and live with you guys?

Right on Craig! Also the states would be better with you, there's no doubt about that.

I'm with you 07! Think the guy has a lot to offer.

The American Dream . . . just a farce being spread to foreign countries, same propaganda any country spreads about itself to others. Once you move here and see the real USA, the people ain’t no different.

Trust in man . . . . ok, I’ve a got a bridge for sell in N.Y., real cheap too!

New president . . . . same ol government, we’ll see but I’m not holding my breath.

Working man . . . . still needs huge jar of vaseline.

Just make sure Uncle Sam gets his cut and you can have the 'Dream’
But face it - it’s a controlled dream. If you know too much too soon,
you probably woouldn’t enjoy it anyway.

It was indeed a great day for the US and the world. However, I’ll have to admit that I did not think that Obama’s speech was as good as his others, nor did it compare to some of the great inaugural speeches, such as Kennendy’s.

Did anyone notice how Roberts screwed up the oath? You think he could have practiced it a little more. Obama’s gonna give his court a run for it’s money, I betcha.
