My latest with the new build of Beta 6

My bug report for today :)

I downloaded and installed the latest build of beta 6 (build
2351)…
All of my previous issues seem to be gone with this latest build. However the automation is still off if I use Waves DX plugins… the automation seems to be off (late) by precisely the plugin latency reported by Ntrack (yes I have the compensate for plugins latecy box checked in preferences, this only happens with Waves plugs). I have a P4 2.8 ghz pentium 4 with 1 gig of memory, XP Pro service pack 3 (tweaked!) and the absolute latest drivers for my Delta 66 soundcard. In addition to the Waves/ volume envelope automation bug there is a lagtime of about 2 seconds from the time I press play (or stop or record) until anything happens…then I get stuttering for about 2 seconds and then Ntack runs fine. It does this regardless of which driver…ASIO, WDM or ASIO4ALL I use or how I set the buffering (and I know how to set it using my maudio control panel for the ASIO and Ntrack for the wdm)…When I use the ASIO drivers the start lag/stuttering
is accompanied by some digital noise. The Delta drivers all work fine for other audio apps including multitrack and video programs.

Thanks,
Ray

A ha…While surfing for an answer to my waves problem I have come up with an hypothesis…N compensates for the plug in latency perfectly since all the tracks are in synch during playback…the bug is in the volume envelopes not being compensated for properly with regards to plug in latency…

Hi Ray,

Yep... that bug has been in there a looooonnnnggg time. Maybe Flav will get around to it during the Beta testing.

What I have discovered is that N’s automation does not like certain Waves dx plugs…specifically the ones that have huge latencies (c4, LinEQ etc…)…Ironically, it works great with the vst Waves IR convolution reverb which one would think would have too much latency (but it doesn’t)…If I stick to vst’s and the avoid the latency hogs this version is running pretty well…good on the cpu…now for more testing! :D
