New Les Paul

Phoo is in geetar makin’ mood! Yo GO Phoo!

D - wishin’ I had the time…

All done with this one for now.

Still need to replace a few screws and the pots, but it is in good shape. Not much I can do about the finish. It plays very well, is holding tune almost perfectly with the new tuners, and actually sounds like a Les Paul – very happy with the pickups – nice and FAT. (too bad I am not a good player)

Heh… not bad phoo! Not bad at all for a bit of dumpster diving! :agree:

D

Phoo, what tuners and pickups did you install? (I think I missed this in the thread.)

Got all the new parts from GuitarFetish. Teryeah posted the link (big thanks again).

The quality is very good, and on very close to being on par with original Gibson, though not exact replacements. They are after all, at least half price if not quite a
bit less.

Looks great phoo! You plugged her in a wailed on it yet? I mean really cranked it? not just testing.

It’s used for medicinal purposes only…being a drummer you don’t really want me cranking it too much. I don’t even have an amp anymore. It be a Line-6 GuitarPort these days, but it does sounds good to a drummer, even if just for therapy.

I put strings on and straight-wired that piece of junk warlock looking thing. It needs a lot of work. I had to reset the neck ASAP. The way it was originally would had the strings a half inch off the fretboard at the octave position. Also needed so revamping in the spring department under the whammy. It came with just three, but fortunately I had an extra one. Four seems to do the trick to keep it balanced when at regular tuning. Three would probably work if it were to be setup as drop tuned to D. I have few other parts that I can find, unfortunately. Going to go file the frets now. The edges feel like little saw blades. Great for shredding…literally.

Hmmm, ^^^^ not sure if I need make a comment or not LOL.

Price is nice on the parts tho, looks good phoo. :agree:

You know what I think phoo - take a jigsaw to it and refinish it. Make it a finless wonder.

Just my thought.

That’s a nice guitar… phoo…

I can hear it from here… It needs to be played through a Fender Black-faced Delux Amp with a new set of 6V6’s and Biased at around -36.5 volts… mabey, lower… I could tell you the correct bias if I heard your Guitar being played through it… There ain’t no other amp that sounds like them…

Bill…
