New Toy

Last night, home from work and there sat a 12 string A/E guitfiddle. The wife picked it up at an estate auction… $90. Maybe I should take her out to dinner? (NAH) Brands is Infinity. Hit the setup bench and some new strings…So far so good.

A short clip of what it sounds like: http://home.mchsi.com/~duffman123/12.mp3

Blended SM57 & pickup.

The Birds on steroids!
Lovin the 12 strings!
Wife gets five starts! Cheers wife! Neet groove Duffie.

What does it look like?
It sounds good. From the pickup, did you do much processing?

it does sound good - cool!

How about a picture? To wet the appetite.

Shoot yeah! Take the wife along too!

That’s a really nice sound Steve. Sounds like you got a bargain with the instrument AND the wife :)

No processing in the recording, 50-50 mix mic & pickup, flat eq all around Just reversed the phase button on the pickup/preamp.

Not a mark on it. Spruce top Rosewood back and side. Binding, perfeling all around. Thing is heavy, has the thickest top I have ever seen. 3 band eq, volume & phase. Saturday night lowered action where I like it, and matched the saddle radius to the neck. Last night spent 10 minutes or so playing Extremes' Whole Hearted on it. Now I know why Bettencourt tunes down on that song and why I have not heard alot of lead work done on an acoustic 12'ver. Big time hand fatigue.
