Is This A Bug?
Sometimes we manage to get NTrack into a state where when the dashed ‘play’ line is tracking along the timeline when a song is playing, the screen does not scroll back and follow the line when it goes off the right hand side of the screen.
This has happened a few times and I’ve been through loads of settings and don’t seem to be able to change the behaviour by doing anything other than resetting global default settings. Is this us being dense or is it a bug?
Thanks
Martin
could be a bug - certainly not what should happen. What build are you using? If you are using a version 6 build I’d suggest reporting it as a bug.
It’s happened on a number of builds, the latest being 6.0.6 2513.
I’ll keep my eye on it and see if it happens again and if I can figure out how it gets into this state.
Otherwise I think it would be next to impossible for Flavio to track down.
I think it is related to some combination of settings though because installing a newer version didn’t fix the problem but default settings restoring defaults did.
Possible Feature Request?
I’ve been wondering whether there’s some way user driven configuration changes like skin/toolbar arrangement/pane arrangement/audio device setup could be exported/imported to/from a config file because I tend to have to restore defaults fairly regularly to get around peculiar behaviour and it gets fairly tedious resetting these attributes every time to get my setup of NTrack.
I guess this is tricky because you may end up restoring the settings in a way which reproduces the original problem which caused you to restore defaults.
How about if the file was readable/editable in some way to allow you to back up settings to isolate the problem.
I don’t know if song files contain any config data about the app maybe this could help Flavio debug problems related to setup.
Just a thought, could this be useful?
Cheers

Does switching the Transport/Auto Scroll Timeline menu option (or press Ctrl+T) make any difference?
Flavio.
Never knew that existed, it certainly has the same effect.
I’m not sure how we manage to hit ctrl-T accidentally.
Thanks
