PW…It should work. I’ve seen it done in other forums. I just tried to vote twice. I wasn’t allowed - so that is good. UNLESS someone would go to the trouble of registering under a bunch of different names…I doubt anyone would go that far…right?

I doubt that anyone here would do that. Folks who have entered the contest that are not registered members here are not a problem either. We’ll see. Only question is the 10 choice limit on the poll choices. I will just have to do the polls in sets of ten is all.
For this purpose I think it will work fine. On other boards where they have user configurable polls, it’s pretty useless. Primarily because the pollster seldom includes enough choices or words the options wrong or…
In this case, it’s an ironclad this or that so it should work fine I think.

this mean you vote for 1 tune? a number between 1 and 10 on each song? is that taken in an average? does bambi really care?
A 10 choice limit? Maybe set up groups in each category? Then choose between the top ten vote getters in each group to get to a final 10 for each category. But there would have to be 2 rounds of voting then…for each category’s top 10, then for each category’s winner.
…then the square root of 10 over the sum of a,b,c,h times fifteen divided by the sum of the square root of x + y…

It's set at 100 now - so..... this discussion leads to the question I have - do we want to vote for each song in each group separately and have only one round of voting or should be take the top ten or whatever of each group and have a poll off?

now we need a poll for whose side you are on Bambi or the slayer ? -
and another poll for what to do to Reaper users (unlimited choice there) -mind you our own pet R user seems to only be slightly afflicted with the deadly COCKOS virus as he still seems to have retained sone of the sense he once had as the majority of them are so badly affected that they spend all their time kissing pictures of Jasons bottom and saying things like cool, fab, bring it on, everytime the R word is spoken -
Behringer have adopted ENERGY XT2 as their chosen DAW application - having used it for a while i can see why - its great, and with Behringers backing Energy XT2 will soon take over the world - RIP REAPER -
so why dont we have another poll for what is our favourite SECOND DAW -
mine are - N Track, RENOISE, ENERGY XT2 (although technically Renoise is a tracker not a DAW)-
but above all i would prefer a “poll dancer” -

How about the non-transferable-multiple-vote-system (I just made that definition up)
beloved by that great European institution The Eurovision Song Contest.
We have 10 votes and rank the songs in order 1 to 10
Our first choice receives 12 points.
Second choice 9 points.
Third choice 8 points.
Fourth choice 7 points.
and so on, down to tenth choice, which only gets 1 point.
The song with the most points is the winner.
Of course, in order to vote, you must be dressed in heavily sequinned garments and affect a Swedish accent.
High platform boots may be excused if you suffer from gout or vertigo.
That’s all there is to it really…
