Try Right Click “My Computer”->Advanced->Performance-> Advanced Tab-> Processor Scheduling -> Change to “Background Services”. This is the equivilent of what T1ny mentioned for Win98. This makes the system work on the background stuff which is where the audio processing happens.

I was going to mention - try ver 3.3 also, I ran WDM drivers under 3.3 for years without ever so much as a click or a pop.

Anyone know where a copy of 3.3 can be found??
