I’ve been a drummer for decades. I’m grotesquely technical and can vouche that he understands drums. His articles are very useful for the beginner, and intermediate players. For the advanced, I find them wonderful reviews…afterall…we all need to go back to school regularly - no matter how good we thik we are. Teehee. 
Never heard of him, but his site is pretty good. Definitely a good place to learn stuff.
