Cannot record to existing song

New soundcard: Soundblaster X-Fi Platinum on Windows XP, 500G disk, 1G Ram. Existing n-Track songs playback, but new audio (vocal) recordings are silent. Card is 24-bit (ran test described in online manual)… must I get a new version of n-track first before I can record?

and how do I get the 24-bit version anyway? What I saw made it look as though I must pay first!

For which version of n-Track do you own a license code?

V3.? through V5.? you did indeed have to pay an upgrade fee for the 24 bit version. Somewhere between 5 and V6 Beta I think Flavio dropped that requirement.

I have nTrack 5.1.1 – if I need the 24-bit version, do you know how I can get it?

Ya' know what? I really am not sure anymore... I suggest dropping Flavio an email. Sorry I can't help more but I honestly am unsure of the policy/procedure these days.

But maybe you are not selecting the correct ASIO input
for recording.

By the way, I have a “Recording Issue” myself… everything I record SUCKS! LOL… :laugh:

Hopefully, V6 will include the “Talent” plugin…

Thanks all: 7of11 pointed to the ASIO channels and now I think I am getting somewhere. Though I still can’t understand why there are SO MANY CHANNELS!

Now I hear the evaluation version organ even though I should NOT need a license for the 24-bit version – anyone know how to stop the organ annoyance?

D does have a point about the Talent plugin…(HA!) that will help IF THIS ORGAN NOISE EVER STOPS!!!

Did you enter in your old registration codes? They may work… Otherwise its money to stop the organ grinder.

I DID enter my reg codes and still get the evaluation organ tones (even though Help/About… still shows my version as “registered”).
According to the blog Poppa W. sent to this thread there is no longer a requirement to pay extra for the 24-bit version.

So any ideas on where to go next?

E-mail Flavio with the codes and your problem, the codes could be wrong. this happened to me when I up-graded to v5 last year.
