Recording MIDI Tracks to Adui

I have two cards on two machines one with Echo Mia and the other with EMU 1212M. Once I have completed sequencing with MIDI how should I record sequenced MIDI tracks to audio in any sequencer?

I’m not sure I understand the question. Are you saying that you want to get the MIDI out of one machine as audio and over to another machine?

What are you using to generation the midi sounds? Outboard gear, VSTi, onboard sounds in the soundcard?

If you can give us a little more detail we can help with a more specific answer.

Hey, I’m back again.

Sorry for the sudden silence. Actually I went in for an email address change which took a while.

I would like to rephrase my question completely here.

The confusion is about my configuration with physical audio connections.

In one of my computers the Echo Mia and the EMU 1212M are to be installed, the being n-Track Studio which is Rewire capable. Reason 3.0 is also to be installed on that PC.

I would request a pointwise response to these questions:

1) Sequencing in Propellerheads Reason shall be done using the 8 vitual outputs of Mia, but only to that extent, i.e. not as digital audio tracks on the hard disk. Is my understanding correct?

2) Later I want to import these Reason tracks into n-Track Studio sequencer through Rewire without the need of any external audio input wiring to the sound card. Is my understanding correct?

3) Finally I want to record these imported Reason tracks along with other tracks in the sequencer to digital audio on the hard disk, not using Mia converters but using the better converters of 1212M. Is this possible to do within the sequencer itself without any external audio input wiring to 1212M?
