Recording without creating a new channel

Using compression on input

Hi,
I want to use the compressor on input, but every time I press record button, a new channel is created and recorded into the new one, not the one with the compressor applied.

try clicking the red button on the record vu meter and select the track the compression is on and also the live button should be on to I think.
