Regions error

Can’t find regions ADTL data

Hi. I’m using V6 Build 2392.

When I open and close the Regions Window, or attempt regions management I get error-windows: “Can’t find regions ADTL data”. I’ve got to “OK” my way through multiple windows. I don’t know what caused this problem.

Also, oddly, I can’t upgrade to 2394. I’ve tried twice, but on both occasions when I view the “about” data, it says I’m running build 2392.

Any help’d be appreciated, thanks!

Hi Fuggle_Hop:

I don’t remember that issue with updating n-Track…
However, recently, I’ve had to rebuild/repair every operating system with-in my setup…
It became a frustrating task…
to say-the-least…
I think I’m over the hump and past the point of no-return with this rebuild…
During the rebuild course I got many pop up screens saying I don’t have permission to install the utilities I was downloading…
especially the Microsoft updates and security files, to get the operating systems current-and-updated…
AND
I still get this issue on occasion as I continue with this re-build…
At times I get a screen saying I need to log-on to the system as the administrator…

I am the administrator…
but the operating system doesn’t seem to recognize me as the administrator…

I wonder if in fact we might be suffering from a similar issue?
Perhaps one of the computer guys can shed some light on these issues…
I’m not at a level to explain what might be going on…
here…
There are times that trying to install utilities that… in-the-past I had no issues of any kind installing on past builds…

What gives…
????

Bill…

p.s. I’m at build 2394… I had 2392 installed and my setup allowed me to update to b2394… with no issues that I could tell…

The problem occurs when deleting all regions from a wave file that previously had regions info.
The problem should be fixed in build 2396.
Please let me know if you still see this or similar problems in the new build.

Flavio.

Thanks for the responses, guys!

I’ll upgrade to the latest build and see what happens!

Fuggle

Ok! I’ve upgraded successfully to '96. The Regions Issue is resolved.

Thank you, Flavio, for sorting it, and thanks Wox for your interest!

Hi Again Fuggle_Hop:

I have b2396 downloaded and ready to install…
I don’t have any working projects currently in progress…

I read in another thread where phoo was discussing…
It should be done from time-to-time…

After the install n-Track asks…
Do you want to save the previous configuration?
Answering yes and updating to a NEW Build means you may be bringing forth a lot of luggage from an earlier project…

That might be nice…

I’m thinking…
????

This could Open the Door
for/to some user input for future versions of n-Track…

A good healthy discussion on this topic might streamline n-Track and produce Stability and Comparisons that every user of n-Track can relate to when Tracking…
Editing…
and Mixing…
and all…

Saving and bringing Configuration forward from Build-to-Build should be an option…
at that point… Having said that… Then the configuration option should be expanded-and-refined to be brought forward from Project-to-Project… Otherwise n-Track should be written/coded to revert back to a Baseline Configuration/Starting Point

If that’s already included with-in n-Track then further discussion is in order to detail a Baseline Configuration at BuildUpdate Time.
That means that everyone starts out from build-to-build and project-to-project on the same n-Track Page…

It might even make the .dmp file construction more meaningful…
and with less luggage handling…

I used to hate it when Flavio would reply to mail from me saying “Revert To Default”…
:p

Bill…

Good this is solved but… could someone explain what is a wave region and what is it used for ?

Thanks !

Sorry about the delay in responding…I’ve just emerged from two days of XP SP3 hell. My computer was suffering from blue-screening because of this damned update. Uninstalling it was the fix. Anyway…

Wox–I’m not sure if this is what you’re talking about, but I’ve recently gotten into the habit of overwriting previous configuration files. I DO have to re-set some variables, but it’s not too much of a headache, really. And I’d rather wipe the slate clean and make sure that I am starting fresh.

Gamma–regions. Regions, regions, regions. Regions are cool. They’re part of a waveform that you can drag from the Regions Menu and place in a track. Like a pallet of copy & pastable wave files.

It doesn't sound cool.... it's more like super-cool....

I've been doing that the hard way. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks man and I sure hope you get rid of those blue screens. They some how make you feel like the whole system's falling appart.

Cheers !

I'm looking at the preferences now..
In "SETTINGS"
you'll find/see "Restore Global Default Settings"

I believe that every install/build update that this box should be
set to default..
I know it's a pain to have to adjust every condition a new build/version and all, is installed..

My reference to that button is what should be considered in expanding within the next few versions..

Pressing
"Restore Global Default Settings"
should open up a menu that could address a wide verity of adjustments that gives the user a choice of conditions to by-pass..
including a Global Default Return..

I think that there are some default returns that if not defaulted can cause undue stress on the physical makeup of some computers that many of the users report that n-Track is not working for them..
when an adjustment within n-Track and how their computer responds to that setup/adjustment could be their main issue..

It's nice to have as many variables available to the user but then know where the stress causes the negative machine-and-operator behaviour..

There are limits to correct adjustments to productivity of a setup..
I think
