There was some buzz about this sampler -

evidently is now a freebie download

Excellent - thanks seven!

Hi Guys:

I saw it over on the MusicSoftWare Weekly page this weekend.
That looks pretty fascinating…
I’m not into this type of work as much as I should be…
But I hear you saying that this should be something good to download and have available ????

Hi woxnerw (Bill)
Sampling opens up a musical palette limited only by your imagination.
I am by no means adept at it. But for example, say you wanted to create
a drum kit from your coughs and sneezes (or worse), - well you certainly could
by sampling all your bodily sounds, creating loops of those sounds, mapping
and transposing those sounds to a MIDI keyboard, reversing and slicing, or
recombining bits and pieces of any of the above, Plus all the DAW stuff,
like adding effects and the like. But it can certainly take you off course
and you may end up spending a lot of time doing stupid stuff. But I say,
if your song needs a sliced-up reversed train wreck appregio, (as a lot of
my songs do) - then there is a tool to do just that. It’s just another
tool in the box. It’s like having an intrument that you play with your
imagination rather than your fingers or your mouth - with absolutely no
restrictions.

Hi sevenOfeleven:
I went to the page to see three apps. there for download… Which is the one to get? I could download all of them but that still doesn’t get me the right one… Is it the Shortcircuit 2 v0.5.0

Bill…

Bill,
I haven’t checked out the differences between
ver. 1_1_2 and ver 2-0_5_0 other than ver. 2…
has an updated GUI with a sample browser.
For ease of use go with ver. 2… - but there was
some indication on the forum that there were changes
to ver. 2… that mucked with how files were saved
and a few other ‘user’ preferences. So my advice would
be to D/L both versions in case the features of one
version have any unwanted effects.

Here is a .pdf showing how to use
ver. 2… to make a drumkit.

Hi sevenOfeleven:

That’s a good idea.
Makes sense.
It’s doesn’t hurt to have them all…
The guy I work with has been a drummer for longer than I have been a bass player.
Goes back to the late '50’s-to-early '60’s…
He has a Gretch Drum set…
he bought back then…
I’d like to get a sample set from that snare… and maybe, the rest of the set…
We talk about that topic quite often…
He’s willing to offer the set to capture a sample set…
If they were captured correctly I’d say that would be a sample set you’d find hard to get in this day and age…
The thing is…
I don’t know if I have the knowledge to go about getting the sample set…

I’m sure there is a correct way to go about getting a sample set…
AND every drummer has their own Magic Cymble set…
