SLINKY

A present to me from me.

:D Slinky was a fun jam, me celebrating my find of all the new drums.
Made a loop and started jaming with the bass. Saw a couple themes
and tried to developed them. 'Not for the faint of heart'
SLINKY

That was a wild ride!
:agree: Maybe it’s because I just watched a movie, “Goya’s Ghosts”, but I see the credits rolling at the end of an action movie with this playing.

nice jam Levi!

Thx Kev, that's a nice thought! Money for nothin and your chicks for free! Kiddin! Hey I've seen that movie advertised, looked intense!

I hated to have you listen, glad to see you made it though that ok! lol
I think I’m learning the limitations for the effects I’m trying out and seeing what they are good for.
What ever it is that triggers ones senses to feel and create cool chops is a worthy tool.
And then the hardest part is getting the bass audible over a laptop in the mix.
I think that’s important today with so many downloads going to phones.
I pretty much hate mastering, that probably shows.
Flavio’s presets are pretty good though.
Thx for listening gb

Are you playing a bass guitar or guitar with a bass effect? Just curious.

Bass guitar with one click echo and compression on, v/amp.
Think it sounds a little hot from the
mix though.
Had to hurry it, neighbor was hittin the wall.
I was also out of toggle position with the bass and that is causing me eq issues.
I can get a sweet booming bass on this but that won't cut a laptop.
Using two tracks, one mixed high, the other covering the bottom.
It seems to work better that way.
But at the moment I have more bottom than I wanted.

Cool stuff my Man! :agree:

Bass may be a tad hot in the mix, on phones at the moment, will check it out with speakers later today bud.

Thx YazR I appreciate that.
:agree:
Have a new mix up that sounds much better, let me know what you think.
I just cut the compression from the bass and adjusted 3eq a little.
I'm diggin it now, bass is still up there but not biting like before.
Got rid of a couple clips. A better over all balance of tones and levells.

Pretty good mix there Levi! Bass sounds pretty flat on the speakers, good job! :agree:

What octave proggy/pedal you running on the geetar?

thx yaz!
Thats my out board processor, genesis 3 “triplets”.
I can’t believe that I abandoned my wa wa after a couple measure!
Hmmmm?
That used to be my go to overdrive.
I’ve developed a style now looks like I’ll be Levi Heavy Metal Stringer.
I’m lovein it, suits my spirit to a T!

:agree: sounds good!

Sounding good there old boy!

You like this bluesy kind of stuff don’t you!

My personal preference would be to take a little verb off the drums…but hey that’s just me!

Cool stuff :agree:

Thx for the help and plays yaz!

Craig, I was Practically raised on the stuff good buddy. Thx for the plays and the help, I’ll check the verb on the drums, maybe compromise. Thx!

Thx for reminding me Craig!
Just went out and found myself some blues forums
:D I'm getting nTrack tunnel vision lol

So the first forum I see has a thread titled 40+ old geezers lolololol and this guy is saying "God Help Us" because blues guys are using effects lolololol So I simply say.
God Help Us?
You do realize that blues is the Devils music don't ya?
Think I'll fit in there?
Now I've got to deal with domestacated blues players sheesh lol
Should be fun.
Oh he was complaining because he entered a blues contest at a guitar center (large us music retailer) and he lost to some guys using distortion.
Those punks how dare they use distortion!
What is this world coming to?
There is a time and place for everything.
For instance my sound.
I'm not going to fire up all my effects if someone has me setting up in the middle of a gymnasium or a small coffie shop.
But will use a tad in some of those situations.
I don't think we need to call on the gods, a little common sense should take care of it.
Down in Austin Tx they want Strats, with Fenders and Verb.
Traditional sounds. It might be a regional prefrence in his case too!
Go where the work is.
Me?
I moved to the Dallas area.
I like spicy chicken and spicy women, to go with my blues

Me at my bluesiest is not “the blues” to a purist. Of course, my country ain’t too country either. Come to think of it, I’d hate to think what a jazz purist would think of me. ???

Would it be possible to get any eq settings you have on your bass?
It comes across on a laptop perfectly and I'd like to make that a preset.
I don't think I've heard you do blues Kevin. If it's anything like your jazz it's got to be good!
