My card has SPDIF abilities, but I don’t really know whats out there in terms of equipment, other then CD burners and MD units. Anything else? I’d like to know my possibilities.
Preamps, AD and DA converters… Higher end channel strips…

yeah, good point, Berry V-amp pro2, J-station, some of the POD versions.
Guitar modeler is more along the lines of what I was thinking, although I dont need one because I have a Line 6 amp lol

One of the things you can use S/PDIF for (if your soundcard will clock to it) is to gang two soundcards together, increasing the number of channels. Run the S/PDIF out from one card to the input on the other, and just use it for clocking purposes, so the two cards stay in sync.

That sounds more interesting, although I don't have another card with SPDIF.
