Texan Born Songwriter

Gone at 87…

Another Giant in the Music Buisness has passed away… I saw it in the paper this morning. However, I neglected to tear it out of the paper. She wrote some 500 plus songs for her days and was active in the buisness into the late '90’s… She used a Remington Manual typwriter to the end.

Cliff… in Florida… you should know the name… I’m sorry the name escapes me… She wrote top songs for them all…

Bill…

Is this the one ? Never heard of her…

Hi teryeah:
I tried the link… No Go… But If I only heard the name again I’d recall IT…

However she wrote songs for most of the music styles… Something like a “Harlan Howard” in the writing world. and very prolific…

I didn’t know this but Harlan Howard wrote songs that just about everybody in the music buisness… recorded… Until he developed “Writer’s Block”… IT lasted four about 10 years then he recovered/came back, and wrote again… Harlan went in 2002…

But this lady wrote almost steady, till she went…

The song ain’t worth very much without lyrics… but lyrics gotta have a melody line to make them work…

Bill…

The link works just fine for me, her name was Cindy Walker.

Thank You, teryeah:
Exactly… That’s the name… I’m gonna do a google on the name… see what comes up…
